Im month to month type of person also with cellphone companies. Had bell mobility rep tell me they dont have month to month and i should go elsewhere. Of course he lied and they do with solo mobile but he just wanted a bigger commission. Im with CHATR/rogers right now and it's 25/month for first six months(still a month to month type plan). With chatr everything is first class.

Yes by making this comment showing he's not much better than the big 3.That's why there's no loyalty when it comes to cellphone industry.
I love using Mobilicity, It does everything that I need it to do for my business. The reception isn't the best outside of Downtown but whats kept me to continue using their services is the Unlimited plans and the cost factor. I'm a happy Mobilicity user 
It's also a bonus that when I travel back to Toronto, I'm not roaming and my bill is always the same at the end of every month.

Eight months ago I replaced my Telus landline with the Mobilicity $25/month line. I prepaid up to 12 months so the monthly fees amount to just $17/month. I don't know if they still offer the same promo.
The reception is generally ok in the living room. In my bedroom, however, I always experience dropped calls and poor reception. It's not bad for the price, IMHO, and I'll probably continue with the service.

No, the same multimonth promotion has changed. It is now $20 when prepaid for a year. It is much better to switch to the BTS $25 plan as it includes data (and you can tether to your computer) and the price does not increase.
Would be nice if iphone5 would be available for mobilicity. The panache is a decent phone though. The lifetime rate of 25.00 is really nice.
I just signed up with on the $25 Plan (love the unlimited data and no voice mail! So long Bell!) and bought the HTC. So far everything has been great though I was surprised that I didn't get any reception while on the Canada Line...
Which phone did you get? I still dont have a phone yet but putting the sim card into a data stick for internet.
I got the HTC Panache. Both the HTC and Nexus S can be used as mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices. Download speed is in the 2 MB area. I chose the Panache over the Nexus S mostly because it has a micro SD card which can be expanded up to 32 GB and 720 P video capture which the Nexus doesn't (16 GB internal only and no HD video). Build quality is good and it has a solid feel to it. Not sure about the buttons long term but the screen looks good and is very responsive. The battery usually last most of the day in normal use, but start playing games or watching movies and the battery goes fast.
It is a single core phone (not dual) and is coming to the end of its life-cycle but at $299 a decent alternative.
I have a data stick from wind mobile which im planning to use for tethering. Heard some crazy things about tethering with the panache and draining or destroying the battery life.
i haven't had any problems, and using your phone as mobile hotspot is bound to drain the battery faster. You can use the USB cable with the phone plugged into your computer which will charge the phone while you surf.
Or you can plug the phone into the wall charger, turn on the hotspot feature and surf away. No need for a hard connection (Telus or Shaw) for normal everyday use. But if you want to download your better off with a standard connection.
I heard tmobile might be getting iphone5 or it's just rumours. Just holding off on getting a phone and seeing what's new out there.
