Anyone been to Medellin and/or Cartagena - Colombia ?

Hey Guys,

as the title says, Wondering how many of you guys have been to (and mongered) in Colombia ?? Specifically Medellin and Cartagena.

I am considering a trip here this summer of fall to medellin and cartagena. However, I have my hangups about this place, from what I read about tourists getting drugged/robbed/killed/etc.

For those who see this post and have been to Cartagena and/or Medellin, how was your experiences, there, for mongering and non mongering activities,

all thoughts, perspectives welcomed

I was in Medellin the end of January, start of Febuary. If you're from Vancouver or North America in general, it's defenitely a culture shock at first. It's hot as hell, traffic everywhere, people trying to sell you cocaine, people asking for money, people trying to hustle you peroid. But once you chill out and relax a bit, you're mostly fine. Just be aware of your sorroundings, don't dress like a douche, wear anything expensive, don't get too drunk or do drugs, and stay in the more touristy areas (Poblado)

If you stay in Poblado, and more specifically Lleras Park area, there's bars and restaurants everywhere and literally hundreds of prostitutes. Some will be crackheads, old, gross whatever, but the majority are hot as hell and live up to the hype. Also if you want to be safer, just google "medellin escorts" and go through a website and contact the girls though whatsapp. From what I can tell, all those girls are verified, so they would be dumb to try anything shady. All the girls I saw were 200 000 pesos, which is about $70 canadian. They were all good looking and provided normal service, oral, a few different positions etc.

Also, if you go. Defenitely book the tour of Guatape, the Communa 13 tour and try to go to a soccer game. All can be booked though expedia or airbnb.
