McDiver called it.

All Blacks v The Wallabies

Amazingly its the first time ever they have met in the World Cup.
I think the Springboks, although the underdogs for the All Black game, were the only team that could have stopped the All Black wave. So my guess is that the final will belong to the All Blacks.

They're saying this Allblacks team may be the best team of all time. Break it down to a man and they may be just that. Multiple future legends on this team.

I wouldn't be too quick to count out the Aussies. I've watched every match and they never give up.

My take is the All Blacks have more team speed than the Aussies; especially in the pack. Their rucking and mauling especially seems to win it for them every match.

I'm wondering if Riza will have it playing at the party on Saturday...
Not sure it will be as good as the Kiwi/Springbok game, but should still be good nevertheless given the Trans-Tasman rivalry.
The game is on at 9.00am PST.

All Blacks 34 Wallabies 17

Aussies put up a good fight especially in the second half to get within striking range. Then NZ went into overdrive.

Talk about having a great kicker with Daniel Carter winning it for NZ!

I wore the Canadian Jersey whenever they played and today I wore the All Blacks Jersey from the 2011 World Cup.

What I really liked was how when the match was finished, both teams stayed on the field and the players went around shaking hands and giving hugs to players of both teams. There was a clearly a great deal of respect felt for their "brothers" on the other team. I don't recall if you see that same measure of mutual respect at the end of other sporting events, such as the Super Bowl for example.

agreed,JD.you see it at the Olympics,as the losers will receive silver medals.also,at soccer world cup&european cup, simlar format.

someone can correct me but didn't most of the Russian hockey team bugger off before the playing of Cdn nat;l anthem at the world championship in May?
I believe Ovechkin was one of the few who stayed?

Was also mightily impressed with the Aussie capt's remarks,he said no excuses and he said at least 3x "the better team won", words you'll never hear
from an nba guy.

Is there something said that rugby is a hooligans game played by gentlemen (and soccer is a gentleman's game played by hooligans)?
Or is it the other way round?
Still, there is a history of good sportsmanship in rugby and that has been exemplified more recently by (among others) both the All Black and Wallaby captains.

Richie McCaw the All Blacks Captain did not mention once the Australian Wallabies and how well they played. (I PVR'd it and just reviewed it prior to posting) Stephen Moore, the Wallabies Captain did give full props to the All Blacks as being the better team (numerous times). Granted, the interviewer directed her questions elsewhere not really having an opening for the All Blacks captain to compliment the Wallabies.

“Football – a game for gentlemen played by hooligans. Rugby – a game for hooligans played by gentlemen.”

Granted... but on other occasions I believe has been very gracious towards opponents.

Absolutely, he has been a great ambassador for New Zealand throughout.

Like I said the interviewer was more concerned if it was Richie's final game not how well Australia played.

Yes. Badbadbad got the euphimism incorrect at the start of the thread...

"Soccer is a gentlemen's sport played by hooligans...rugby is a hooligan's sport played by gentlemen".
