When I was young in the late 70's I was a fan of the early metal bands like Zeppelin, Vanhalen, Black Sabath, Motorhead, AC/DC, then continued with bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Metallica. I have found that as I have gotten older my tastes have changed while I still enjoy the old stuff I am not a big fan of a lot of the new stuff.

Now spend most of my time listening to Perry Como and Petula Clark (just kidden, although they were my old mans faves)

Grew up with it, man. Big Ozzy fan. This should be the Canucks new skate out song. Better than a song that says "I want to run, I want to hide."

Tool show in Calgary was best show I've ever been to overall, gwar, slayer were really good to. Sepultura would be fantastic!! Grew up on alot of punk, and a bunch of metal. Most of the metal I have now are just one off songs I've dl'd from iTunes from hearing on sat radio (machine head - halo, overkill - ironbound, for example). Oddly enough I spend alot of my time listening to electronic music now and I prefer those with heavier faster beats.

Slayer was fantastic "throw your carcass off a cliff or big booter" music while snowboarding (archangel to, damn wish I still had a mini disc player). Really enjoyed hybrid punk/metal like Boy Sets Fire and Snapcase (guess they called it hardcore or something - but to me it's just as metal as calling zep, metallica, maiden metal which to me is just some good solid hard rock).

Great idea for a thread,

I grew up listening to Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Sabbath, Dio, Dokken, Leather Angel, and of course the obvious, Like ACDC, Ozzy, Allice Cooper, and they are all still on my iphone,

I am really enjoying pretty much anything put out by Disturbed, and I could listen to them all-day, every-day!

The first concert i went to will always be my favorite, 16Yrs old and a bunch of buddies and I made our way to vancouver to see Iron Maiden - Powerslave, with the 50ft Eddie on stage, I don't remeber if the acoustics were good, if the music was any good, but the show was fantastic, BEST CONCERT EVER!

ROCK ON!

Was able to catch Slayer and Rob Zombie last year... simply amazing show!!

This year I have already seen Deep Purple - and later in the year I am gonna catch Van Halen, then Iron Maiden. Cannot freaking wait!!!
