Everything was perfect. I booked an appointment few hours be4 hand, confirmed 1 hour be4 hand, chewed a gum and consumed a Listerine strips, but when I arrived under the building, the sp still stood me up by not answering my calls and text messages (she hasn't given me buzz # and room #). I waited in the car as time slowly passes by. After 30 minutes past, I tried phoning her and texting her again but there was still no reply so i left. ~ any1 else has similar experience? been stood up or stood up an appointment be4?

The worst part is that I don't get an apology or explanation to why I had been stood up after the event happened. (do you guys think this is necessary or I am just overreacting?)

this happens far too often on both sides. there are many guys who make appointments with no intention of showing up, and many sp's will take a short notice client or double book in case one doesn't show up. also if she has been overworked ,often she simply passes out from exhaustion

I think it comes with the territory. I agree with cherise. It happens both ways. I had a friend in the "business" and it was amazing how many times an appt was made and confirmed and yet the customer never showed up. That's why most sp's have call display.
I have also been stood up at various times but in most cases, the sp would get back to me with an explanation and/or an apology.
Happy to say, it is the exception, not the rule.

I have been stood up by visitors more times than I can count. It does come with the territory, unfortunately. There are those who phone, make very specific requests, take down the directions to my location and then never show. It doesn't happen much these days, but it still does. Life goes on...As for standing clients up; NEVER. (of course this is still my first year in the industry) I did have one client show up after I had said "I might be able to be home by 1, but it's more likely to be 2" in an email. I think there was a language issue, because he showed up at 1, I wasn't home from my appointment, and when I walked into the house at 1:30, there was a snarky voice mail message thanking me for standing him up since he had driven all this way, etc. . I returned his call and email, apologised for the misunderstanding, and never heard from him again.

As folks are stating, this apparently does happen sometimes and, although it's unfortunate and irritating, you shouldn't have to worry that it will happen often. You probably did everything you could, and it just didn't work out. Sometimes a lady will say yes to an appointment, thinking she can get there then, and then something gets in the way. The most professional response would be an explanation and an apology, of course, but everyone handles their business differently and it doesn't sound like you're getting either in this case.

Some guys make a fuss and complain in the review section, while some just write it off as a lady whom you'll never contact again.

The other thing is that, if this is the way the appointment was handled, you might have gotten off easy. You might wanna be glad that the appointment didn't come together. And, in the future, if you do hear from the lady, and do accept her apology, you might decide to give her another chance.

I've had to cancel before. If it was ever looking uncertain for any reason I'd just let the girl know a couple of hours in advance I won't make it. I wouldn't want to drag it out and have to cancel at the last minute.
You'd think it would be easy to make an appointment and stick to it but random stuff comes out of the blue. Someone reminds you that you were supposed to help them with something or your having trouble coming up with a reason why you have somewhere to go.

It is a live and learn thing. I have been stood up a couple times but if you stick with well reviewed ladies they mostly are very reliable. If there is a cancellation there is usually at least some sort of contact regarding the change in plans. If I get stood up and there is no response or excuse? Scratched off my list as money saved and a lousy time missed ; )
You are probably lucky anyway. Good luck

Yes, I have to say this is very true. You saved money, look at it that way.

This is what PERB is 4. Help us separate the pro's from the flakes, and establish acceptable protocols. No one should ever be stood up without any contact, notice, or apology, and to leave you guessing and not answer you back is just disrespectful. Extraordinarily tacky of her. You are not overreacting.

Punt doesn't think this bad behaviour "comes with the business". Nosirree. I reject that the business must be this way. Mostly "the business" is sound. But the dregs in any business drag it down, on both sides of the coin. Flakes are losers with low integrity and their bad karma will eventually bite them. I would love to be the angel of their redemption. Line up all the flakes. Boys on one side, girls on the other. Poke them all in the genitalia with a live cattle prod until they find their respect. Then go for sushi and some beers. It would help make the business what it should be. Like Perb helps. Punt's suggestion is for a site like Perb or BP or CL or a similar community to have a flake rating, like rotten tomatoes for the movies. Let's clean up this biz. Start with the man in the mirror, then go outward from there.

Punt.
