AMP at Granville & 72nd beside a Japanese restaurant is usually opened 24 hours.
Maybe supply and demand? How much demand is there into the wee hours of the morning? And is it worth it for a shop to keep 2 or 3 girls on shift beyond midnight to meet what could be two or three pooners one night and maybe none the next couple of nights? I imagine any shops open until 10 or 11 will have a good sense of how the demand is trending close to closing. If things are only getting slower as the night winds down why stay open in hopes might pick up? Conversely if things regularly got busier leading up to closing time you'd think they'd extend their hours unless like was mentioned above bylaws come into play and those can differ municipality to municipality.
I think it's a combination of by laws and demand.
Years ago I remember there being a lot more happening in the wee hours of the morning but with significant risk.
You'd count yourself lucky if you just found a provider with a bad attitude.

No that is flat out UNTRUE. Swedish Touch is Not open till 3 am and if they were caught pulling that stunt, they'd be in for a big fine by bylaw and possibly in trouble with the landlord. Their lease likely forbids them to be open past a certain time. All MPs in City of Vancouver must be closed by midnight. All of them, no exceptions. Covid almost closed a lot of these spas for good. Swedish Touch almost closed for good. They were going to move then Madame Cherry bought them and saved the day. In Toronto and Montreal spas can be open 24 hours, most are open till 4 or 5 am though technically Toronto has a close time of 9 pm but no one bothers respecting it, the amount of revenue brought in by being open till 4 am dwarfs the amount of the fine. I'm sure Swedish Touch would do so well if open till 3 am. Will be interesting to see the lineup during Grey Cup week in November, hope they will bring on some hotties

Ive been in the Swedish Touch past midnight before.
It seems that places like this tend to be quite lenient when it comes to following the rules. I've also been in many clubs and bars downtown well after "closing time."
I found out hard way never book a late night person that posts after 8 at night !!

The Touch is supposed to lock its front door at 12 midnight, if sessions are going on inside after midnight that's fine but they have to lock the front door at 12:01 am. As for bars, they can technically remain open all night just not serve alcohol after a certain time. The Touch doesn't serve alcohol so liquor regulations don't apply so I guess maybe they bend the rules a bit
But it would be an interesting stunt to pull for a spa, just stay open till 3 am until you're caught. How long would it take before you're caught saying open past midnight ? Does the city really care? Does bylaw really care ? There's no liquor license, the spas don't create any noise. Honestly I think the Touch or Platinum Club or Pharaoh's could stay open till 3 am and get away with it for several weeks, they'd get a verbal warning from bylaw but not much more than that. And look at all the extra business they'd get being open 3 extra hours. Vancouver is too conservative for much to happen in terms of a fine. So what about the Grey Cup coming up ? Good time to do this ? I think so. What is there to lose ? all the football fans coming in from across the country.
