Not sure if allowed here but I have a very specific question about Korean language and use with SPs which I cannot ask in normal company lol. Recently got berated by a Korean speaking SP so hoping to understand some context...

I once said "boji" to a Korean SP which I understood to be vulgar slang for the female genitalia. I got a smiling gasp from the SP but she definitely wasn't offended.
One other time, I ticked a SP's foot and she got really mad at me. So who knows what would set them off.

For context. I'm white and only speak Korean OK. Basically I got an earful from an SP because I used 반말 instead of polite language. I guess I thought since I'm seeing you naked the time for formality has passed lol. But I could be wrong. Other weird thing is this SP was actually not Korean but spoke the language well enough. Overall it was a strange situation.
Are you younger or older than her? You jumped the gun on dropping formality. Wait till she gets comfortable with you and playful but if she isn't calling you 오빠 first then stick to the formal.
Fair enough and good to know. I was for sure older than her but she wasn't having it. Anyways that was exactly my question so thanks! Usually the whole speaking the language comes across well as they are fairly amused by it.
