I use Shaw to watch shows if I am on the road. Obviously, you need to be a customer of Shaw, Rogers, Bell etc etc.

Yah, depends what you want to watch. Any specific shows? If you know you want to watch a specific show, there are tons of websites with links to hosted videos. I had collected some links and saved them all on a google bookmarks page for Harmony a while back, feel free to have a look if you want!

Most networks also have full episodes on their websites (I've watched a bunch of documentaries or episodes from The Nature of Things, The Fifth Estate or Passionate Eye on the CBC website, for example) - you can browse through their video library:
