Any advice on deposits

The advent of a deposit is a bit nerve wracking for me. Wondering if anyone has advice on if deposits are being normalized or if they are mostly just a way to get a quick $50-$100 out of my pocket. I do understand this hobby can be line gambling sometimes and only risk what you’re willing to lose either in scams or lacklustre service

Do you mean buy a gift card and show card and receipt? Been asked for the code to activate it before meeting and that’s a 🚩for me

if you're gonna go the GC route, then make it nominal and only entertain it with reputable folks or else a scam is easily predicted in your future.
