Anxiety drugs and erection?

Hello,

Couple of months ago, I shared my problem about being too sensitive and coming too fast during an intercourse.
In summary, although as a teenager I was able to last at least 15 min since I got into my 30-ties I am lucky if I can last more then 1 min. It would be kind of logical that as we get older our sensitivity decreases, but in my case it’s quite opposite.

Recently I’ve been prescribed some kind of anxiety drugs to solve an issue related to my muscle spasm (eye twitching). According to my doctor, stress might have caused this so he gave me those drugs to relax. And they worked; at least for the muscle spasm. :)

But, I have noticed also a significant change in my sexual behavior. First of all, my first erection lasts longer before the explosion. Although I am still not close to my 15 min mark as a teenager, it is still longer then before. At the same time, I am still able to recover after 10 min and go for another round, as I was before.
But, now I am not able to come at all for the second time. :(

Basically I get a decent (not as strong as the first one) erection for the second time and then 15 min after “hard work” and sweating :) and realizing that we are both getting really tired, the erection starts to fade.

I was wondering if this is expected to happen when using relaxation-drugs.

Another important thing is that I’ve been using condoms during these encounters on top of taking drugs maybe 30 min prior to the intercourse.

Input from the HN would also be highly appreciated.

Thank you,
Fox

Would appreciate if someone could share similar experiences.

Hi Fox1302

Your anti anxiety medication could be causing the changes you have noticed.

Most prescription drugs have certain side effects that can happen. These side effects can be different from person to person. It is also possible for you to get side effects on the medication one time but have no side effect the next time.

Anti anxiety medication like valium can cause decreased desire, erectile problems and ejaculation problems.

Anti anxiety medication like Ativan can cause problems with decreased desire and ejaculation problems.

Not all side effects can be bad and in some situations a medication is prescribed because of the side effect.

I would suggest that you see you doctor again and discuss what is going on. They may be able to change the medication or adjust the dosage.

Diazepam is the generic name for Valium (same drug).

Side effects could include problems with decreased desire, erectile problems and ejaculation problems.

I would recommend going back to your doctor and discussing what side effects you are having. Could be possible to change medication or dosage.
