Its quite common now to see people with their dogs in stores these days. Mostly during the summer when the warnings are not to leave pets and children in hot cars... Most have them on leashes. In public (city and even city parks), when I see a dog not on a leash, I think the owner is a dickhead for not having his dog on a leash. I for one don't like to see pets in stores, even on a leash. Most owners are biased on the well being of their dogs/pets. The pet doesn't harm them or their friends, but if you introduce the pet to more people, the pet will find someone it dosen't like.

I believe all pets should be banned from all public stores, mostly to see that the odd incident dose not happen (except for seeing eye dogs). This last summer I was in Cdn Tire and 2 owners had their dogs inside on leash and the dogs went after each other, the owners pulled them away.

Sad to see the young girl lose her dog. But her parents should of realize that getting a pit-bull from a dog rescue isn't a good ideal, especially if the dog in question has been abused. Oh that was a big dog and a big bite!

The owner (Owner 1) of the dog on the leash that has to be put down... Well the other owner he/she is at fault and should of kept control of their dog. Now Owner 1 loses a good pet, due to the inactions of another owner.

In our society if one of our pets kills another animal or attacks a human being, it is usually put down.

When I was younger, we had cats that killed mice, didn't think for a second that was wrong. If you have a mice problem, get a cat. A cat is small, not very frightening, but make it a cat that is 50 lbs. That could be scary....

Dogs that killed chickens were put down. Can't risk it getting other chickens or turning on its owners....

Pets when pushed to the limit, will retaliate and revert to their natural instincts....

Its really Ironic, a dog kills another dog and its usually put down within the week. A human kills another human and goes to jail for 20 years and gets out on parole...

And to bad that people who commit animal cruelty to dogs or whatever pet aren't given the same 20 year sentence.
Dogs merely act on instinct, unless trained otherwise like seeing eye dogs,
people act or rather react on stupidity.

Like you said 80watts and where I bring up the stupidity thing is where do people get off bringing their dogs
into a public place thinking or rather NOT thinking about how their animal is going to react in a place full of people.
Or if you will a strange environment to the animal where that kind of place could be very alien to them
and really screw with their usually calm demeanour.

In a sense (pet owners) use a little common sense before subjecting your dog to a foreign environment
and give it the benefit of the doubt that just maybe your animal might not like what it see's and gets
very upset. You gotta know they are emotional the same as us.

On the other hand your dog may feel quite at home in a shopping store or other place as you've
taken it there a few times before. But please think there is that chance like above that some strange
other animal might be in there that your dog has never seen before and all hell brakes loose.
Do you want to risk your dog being killed by another or possibly being put down cuz ur dog
killed another persons pet?

Leave them at home for everyone's sake OK?
Or better yet take the dog for a walk in the park somewhere.
Dogs usually love the outdoors a hell of alot more than being cooped
up in a mall. After all they just more than likely spent all day cooped up
in your place waiting for you to get home.
