I was almost killed by a drunk driver, this is a huge trigger for me.

Extensive life changing injuries. Had to go to court.
DRIVER DIDN’T GIVE A SHIT.
He got off on technicality.
Comes over to me with a big smile and wants to shake my hand. He said “No hard feeling eh?” Like it was all a big joke.

To this day I would happily smash his head in with a hammer.

Check your closet..:)
Stuff like that is why I don’t ride a bicycle on the road.
RIP to both of them.

Me neither. Can't believe how trusting people are in this city. Dads riding with their kids on the back in a kiddie seat. In traffic. Incredible.

Electric scooter on a deserted sidewalk for me. I gave up on bicycles years ago.
I own my own electric scooter not the rentals which have no suspension and feel like punishment.
Riding on sidewalk is illegal but no one cares in deserted streets and areas.

It is bad enough on a motorcycle.
I do not know how anybody on a bicycle could possibly feel secure riding on the roads with the attention spans of drivers today.
Motorcycles make plenty of noise, yet many drivers fail to pay any notice of them.

Between texting while driving to driving with impairments such as drugs and alcohol, I am surprised more people aren't getting killed.

I often drive a 5 ton and can look down into cars and pickups.
So many drivers, young and old, male and female, staring at the phone in their lap while driving.

Report them!
So on that topic.
In my daily commutes I too see all types on their phones, but here I am LAWFULLY abiding the rules of the road and how do I report these mutherfuckers in a way that I don't use my phone, mainly to snap a picture of the asshats and who do I send that to if I did happen to get that picture?
Is there some universal number one can call and not 911?
Curious law abiding driver asking here ...

suggest pulling over and calling 911 and giving descrip of car, driver, lic #.
I did that as a pedestrian and the guy I spoke to seemed like he was going to put out the info as to car direction, etc.
without a pic I dunno how much they can do but Maybe a warning might make the retards think twice

hmmm but is this a 911? In most cases the fuckwads haven't 'yet' swerved or hit anyone.
A good case for a GoPro on a stick, just aim it through the window at them, get their plates, then report em.
Who knows? with the number of traffic infractions every day that never get charged does the VPF even care?

Police budgets are tight since covid, and this is affecting various aspects of law enforcement, including traffic offense enforcement. Budget constraints are limiting the number of officers available, reduce the frequency of traffic patrols, or restrict the resources available for traffic management technology. This is leading to less frequent enforcement of traffic laws and potentially more traffic violations. Bottom line is traffic patrol is not top priority at the moment. Good luck with your reports

So sad and I can tell you the community where they lived in Jersey is so upset. Even when Johnny was a small kid he was referred to as Johnny Hockey carrying his stick everywhere looking for a street hockey game. I’m glad it stuck!

RIP

On the drinking driving aspect I always assume the worst from drivers. Whether they are insanely aggressive, drunk or just your ordinary assholes it is unsafe on any unmarked road to ride a bike. ie no marked bike lanes.

Shit happens. Till the end of the universe people will be killing other people due to their own stupidity. Attitude has to change. Dosen't take much for a drunk guy to get behind the wheel of a vehicle and drive. Alcohol and emotional distress.... bad mixture....
