Greetings fellow users of PERB. I just finished watching two of the best movies that I bought during this week. First one I would like to share is called:
"A Scanner Darkly"
Pretty much this film gives use a more definition about how the drug trade works these days or this present century. Although Keane Reeves wanted to stop working on Sci-Fi flicks, he could turn down this one. Not gonna go through the spoilers but there is a irony to this film. Look back in the past with the actors that took part in the flim: Harrelson, Ryder, Reeves, Downey Jr. and Cochrane. They one way or another experienced extreme drug useage and therefore (in my theory), they do a hella good job playing the characters. Overall the main character (Reeves) paid a big price for being the undercover cop and losing his true real identity. Would I rent this or buy this film: I like Reeves the best since the Matrix trilogy, so I would buy it. But if you are not too keen on Sci-Fi style flick, then rent this.
GFE - Girlfriend Experience.
Is the second flim I finished watching this evening. Note, this film does not feature the stars ex-porn star Sasha Grey. Honestly the film just hit me within. It just shows the darkside and how one can be one-single minded (male) middle-class blue collar worker hooked on one escort. Great film since it's a local/independant and on top of that, there are a few scenes that you may need to rewind and review to get an understanding of what the anonymous like in their "experience" with GFE. Although later on in the film, the main character shows it's true colour and what he lost... Not gonna go bit by bit cause some of us may just look it up and see the spoilers section. If you get a chance to find this film, you must watch it.
Sorry to those read this and think that I am just koo koo. I know I didn't explain enough about these films but, again it's just some random thing I was thinking about all day today (Wednesday). I may or may not post up another thread that deals with Movie Reviews. Thanks for reading this though, and feel free to leave your input...
