Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Poor grooming is a sign that people stop caring about themselves.

I know lots of women with a lot of fat (and muscle, cause larger people have a higher muscle mass) who take excellent care of themselves...beautiful, sexy clothes, hair done, perfect make-up, gleaming, healthy skin.

Men age poorly. I saw that at my high school reunion. Men have a tendency to say "oh well, I'm getting old, so, getting a belly, and flabby arms, is just part of the deal"

The women at the reunion looked almost like their high school pictures, and no matter their body shape, were healthy looking.
Women fight tooth and nail against the whole aging process. Unless, they are ill.

This applies to men and women but women have it tougher these days because thin is in and will probably continue to be in our lifetime.

I think there are all types of bodies, some are thin, some are stocky, some are tall, some are short. Some are shaped like fire plugs.

But FAT is not a body type. FAT is excess calories the person is not burning up stored in the body and is extremely unhealthy. If you are FAT, you are unhealthy. You will die younger than if you were not FAT. Your body will function better if you are not FAT. Being FAT is usually caused by an unhealthy lifestyle. It is rare for a person to be FAT because of a physiological problem that prevents calories from being burned normally.

On another point, there are all kinds of men out there. Not all men are attracted to slim women. Some men are attracted to FAT women. There is no right and wrong, healthy or unhealthy in terms of what you are attracted to. Statistically however, the majority of men are attracted to healthy women, which means not FAT (and equally the majority of women are attracted to men who are healthy, that means men who are not FAT). That means that a FAT SP will still make money, but likely will find more clients if she were to become a thin SP, all other things being equal.

These are not successful men - these are men with low self esteem or no game who have trouble getting laid and are going after the "low hanging fruit".

I've had male friends like this; and let me tell you it's just because they want to get laid and get some steady reliable tail.

It's not what they want - it's what they will settle for because for many that's all they can get.

I watched a program about a dance they hold in various cities for plus sized women and the men who love them. The attendance was full. Most of the men were very thin.

There are many countries where larger women are preferred, Jamaica being one. A friend of mine visited and came home, packed up and moved there.

Some men, like a brother of mine, dislike seeing any 'bones' on a woman.

Fat is important to survival. Some bodies are very efficient in storing it even when a woman eats the same as someone much thinner. I've watched women go to extreme lengths to fight their bodies and it always ends up with the yo yo syndrome. As soon as they start eating normally, the way most people do, the weight goes up. Studies have shown that a biological mechanism influences a set point for weight in humans.

The slower the metabolism, the greater the weight gain. After adding 20-40lbs the weight gain stopped. The metabolisms increased and the weight stabilized at the new, higher level (Ravussin et al., 1988)

Set point theory explains why the Pima gain weight easily, but lose it slowly, while the Borroro nomads of Nigeria can eat a lot of food yet remain slender.

Certainly, there are many obese people in North America, especially the United States, and eating diets high in empty calories can be the culprit. However, I find most women who are considered 'obese' take a lot of care in their diet and eat healthful foods. I have also seen very thin women live on junk and, although their skin looks like crap, they maintain a svelte appearance.

It has also been proven that after menopause women will struggle to lose weight on a diet that causes their husbands to lose weight quickly.

One more thing! Fat = unhealthy? Watched a fellow on a show about our perceptions of obesity. He is considered obese by the Canadian Health Standard, yet, he competes in triathlon events. Short, stocky with a belly, he has a good layer of fat over his muscles, but it doesn't stop him from getting great times in the event. His doctor told him he was just that kind of guy who was designed to withstand any famine. His ancestors could probably throw a sack of grain over their backs and walk through Siberia.

Fat is healthy. Without it we look grey, stringy and feeble. When you get old it can make the difference between surviving something as simple as influenza. My Grannie went two weeks without food and survived a brutal influenza at age 85. She will be 100 this year. Plump her whole life, even through the famines of Europe.

Some fat people are not unhealthy I have personally met 2 females over 450 lbs who had absolutely no health conditions including difficultly with knees and walking in general . I met them during their weight loss journey both females were looking into weight loss surgery and decided against it because for them their fat was not life threatening . Food addiction will kill people that's what I see as not attractive all the avoidance and angry behaviour associated with the sickness.
I personally do not find fat ugly I'm grateful for mine and I'm grateful I have the knowledge that has allowed me to see it that way.

my neighbour's teenage girl was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa. at one point she was hospitalized for a few weeks while she got her weight up to a stable level

i was reading about the condition and learned that there was only a 75% survival rate once the individual required hospitalization... pretty sobering!!

last i saw she was doing pretty well, but her folks were a pretty loving couple and got right into the solution as a family matter

Really? What if you were the boyfriend of an SP and you lived together? Would that satisfy having a legitimate argument, or would you only really accept anything from anyone who is not themselves an SP?

Anyways, you may turn more away than you take in, but that could be because you don't care to work too much and that there are many many men out there and few fat SP's, so basically no competition. It doesn't mean that you're as popular as you would be if you were a healthy weight.
