Hello Health Nurse I recently saw a SP a few days ago and had covered anal sex then had vaginal sex with the same condom on, after this I received oral sex with the condom still on and after that I did french kissing and also performed daty on her then received bbbj at the end. About a day after I got fever symptoms, sore throat, flem, headache still have them. My concern is wheather I caught something indirectly from the kissing, daty or bbbj because of the anal sex at the beginning.

Hi MDG

There are a few things you can get from getting other peoples feces (poo) in your mouth. I guess it is possible there could have been some feces passed to her genitals or lips while having sex and passed to you via kissing or daty. The most common way we see it transferred during sex is when someone has mouth to anal sex (rimming). Things that could pass this way are hepatitis A, shigella, giardia, cryptosporidium etc... The most common symptoms for these could include things like diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea (sick to your stomach).

As feces can cause problems if put in the mouth or vagina it is a good idea to use a different condom if changing from anal sex or just do the anal sex last. Remember this also includes things like fingers and sex toys.

It is difficult to diagnose conditions over the internet but it sounds like you caught a cold. There are lots of ways a cold can be transmitted e.g. Kissing, touching your eyes or nose after touching a door handle that has the virus on it etc...

Here is a link to some information on colds. The website also has a symptom checker and the nurses line ph# (811). The symptoms you describe do not sound like an STI. If they do not get better or if the symptoms get worse or change you could always give the 811 number a call or see a doctor.

As most STI do not show symptoms we always recommend to go for regular testing even if you feel fine.

Hi MDG

I am so glad that you felt comfortable with sharing your question.

It is very common for me to speak to people about this in the clinic, as a society we do a poor job about giving practical sexual health information to people. Many people just don’t know about the risks, with going from anal to vaginal sex.

I agree with binkypie with the “no need to apologize” comment. I just hope that people feel comfortable with asking any question on the health forum.

You can always send me a PM if you do not want to post a public question.
