I'm curious to hear what people's views are on anal sex between a man and a women, and in particular I am referring to a guy sticking his cock in a chick's ass... I'm not so concerned with people's views on all the various "ass play" types of sex, with fingers and dildos and all that.

Anal sex between two men seems more "explainable", in a "necessity is the mother of invention" type way. Perhaps people have different views on that, but what I am wondering about is why so many guys like to (or would like to if they could find someone to help them out with this) stick their cock in a chick's ass?

One view is that is universal and has been common since the beginning of time. Do you agree?

Another is that it is cultural, that the practice is common in some cultures and virtually unheard of in others.

Our own culture (the N. American strain of Western culture), in my view, is heavily based on rules, authority, implied threats, domination, force, forcing others to submit to our will, and taking at the expense of others. This is a male ideology obviously, but males are in charge of our society in a big way. Is anal sex related to these larger cultural ideas, forcing someone to submit to your will, or is it something other than that? Something more erotic and less based on the themes I mentioned above?

Another thing I was thinking about is whether it is related to porn? American made porn has vastly more anal sex in it now than even 10 years ago, and my understanding is that in the 70s and 80s, anal wasn't very common at all in porn. Is the popularity of anal sex among regular guys out in the popularion related to its prevalence in porn? (note that this is a "chicken and egg" question)

European porn seems to almost always have lots of anal sex... is there anything to be made of that? Do more regular German, Dutch and French women take it up the butt than American and Canadian women?

I agree with this. I suppose that is part of what makes it an enigma: the physical act itself isn't really that great - it's hard to get in, easy to pop out and you can't really pound it the way you can a pussy (at least in my own experience I have not been able to get the kind of movement going the way you can in a pussy) - and yet the attraction is huge, particularly among those (such as the adolescent boys and others who the porn industry is targetted toward) who don't have a lot of sexual experience.

I've never understood the appeal of sticking my dick up another human being's asshole, even a female one. I've always considered that to be an exit, not an entrance. I tried it once, reluctantly, many years ago, at the lady's request (she was not an SP, and it was bareback). I agree. Tried it four times or so. Once the sphincteral muscles relax, the anus becomes quite mundane. After all what was it designed for? A place where wastes are molded, and readied for extrusion.
