Schmocation
The real problem is the facetious attitude of most schmucks (see above). Nobody takes this problem seriously. It`s human nature to deal with problems after they happen. Like how they put armed officers on airplanes after hijackings occur, as opposed to having had them there all along as a preventative measure. We always take the same stance: "Let`s make sure that doesn`t happen again." That will be our downfall. You`d have to have had your head up your ass for the last 20 years not to see the problems that we are facing with respect to our planet. This subject genuinely scared the crap out of me. Not for myself, but for our children. The world in 50 years will be a far different place than it is now. That is when we will start to consider taking action. But by then, it will be too late. The problem is irrreversible. And there`s no place else to go.

Of course, ignore everything I just said if the Aztecs were correct.

The easiest way to discredit someone is to find one thing that they say that stretches credibility. Then the conclusion is that if they're wrong about one thing, they must be wrong about everything. That's how O.J. got acquitted.

I don't know about Vancouver climate, but it doesn't take a scientist to see the climate changes in Edmonton over the last 30 years or so. I'm concerned about climate change on a global scale, but in our own little corner of the world it's been great. Warmer summers, warmer winters, less snow. But anyone living in the coastal regions regions should be very worried.

Thanks for the reminder that global warming is a total myth, gravitas. Every so often, I find myself thinking that pouring pollutants and toxins into the atmosphere, the oceans, lakes and rivers plus cutting down the rain forests at a rate never before seen actually might have some impact on the planet. Periodicaly I need a reminder that global warming is a lie perpetrated by tree hugging lefties who don't comprehend a basic truth, namely that what's good for the economy is infinitely more important than what's good for the living species that inhabit planet earth.

Global warming is NOT a myth!! Your living under a rock if you think that!! Do some research on it. Our Winters are getting warmer in terms of length of time!! Cold will always be here but it doesn't last as long as us having warmer weather.
And when i mean us I don't mean Vancouver only...I mean everywhere.
It's weather fact. Watch weather network.
Hurricanes feed of warm waters and we're getting more and more of them and they are alot more violet if you haven't noticed. More Earthquakes are being registered globally......tornados are around more and more fierce. These are scientific facts! We are destroying ourselves!!

After all.......we humans are far far from perfect.....shouldn't surprise you that we're screwing everything up!! I'm not surprised and I'm sure alot us aren't either!!
I do want to see this film!

One thing that has always puzzled me...

The world climate has been constantly changing throughout history, going back millions of years. Warm oceans over the arctic. Glaciers down into the mid US.

So what happened? Why did the ice age end? Why did the glaciers melt and retreat? What caused global warming hundreds of thousands of years ago, long before humans were destroying the planet?

And maybe, if in fact there is a trend for global warming (although the winter in Edmonton this year does not support that), perhaps it is for the same reason that it has always happened thru history. Perhaps we are not as significant as some would have us believe?

I'm just glad we weren't wiped out by the super mega hurricanes that were supposed to hit us this year. Because as all the global warming experts know the increased number and severity of hurricanes in the last couple of years was caused by global warming and not by the fact that hurricanes follow a pattern which reoccurs every 50 years or so. I'm just waiting for some reverse explanation of how the fact that we got almost no hurricanes this year actually fits into the global warming alarmists predictions.

I am buying it

I also want to buy it for everyone I know. EXCELLENT wake up call that is long long overdue - I am baffled knowing big brother is not being held accountable for murder. Loss of species in both the plant & animal kingdom is one thing, but the innocent people this affects is another....

You know its amazing some of the arrogance that gets posted on these boards.

The INCONVENIIENT truth of the matter is that Gravitis and Horse99 you don't know the answer any more than anyone else about global warming or our planet.

So quit pretending, the fact is you DON'T KNOW.

You could be wrong or Al Gore could be wrong.

Protecting the environment (from ourselves) is not a question about whether global warming is happening or not.

Have either of you ever stepped out of your house and actually gone skiing or hiking and enjoyed this incredible country we live in???

Does your life suck so much that you really don't care if there is a planet for you to live on or not, or is it let the other smuck worry about it???

When it comes down to it, if YOU are wrong about global warming - we are in a world of hurt, if we are wrong, no harm done - cleaner air and water, cleaner running vehicles.

If we are wrong, how could it be a bad thing? The fact is it's not, and that's the difference between our 2 positions. And that my ignorant little friends, is how you think these things through.

It's called planning and being ready for different outcomes.

I would hate to have either of you running our country or a company, because quite frankly neither one of you has a clue about risk management.

I'd put my money on us being wrong over you being wrong any day of the week.

Sorry if I'm being too hard on you guys, but arrogance and ignorance are not something to be proud of.

Maybe rent the video? -- since he does deal with how CO2 emissions have coincided with high temperatures throughout many ice ages/warmings.

Maybe something to do with the extreme weather the Pacific has been getting this season -- droughts/fires in Australia, worst monsoon season ever in China, Phillippines,..... Monsoons are hurricanes, just a different name.

and there in lies the rub....30 years* of data in terms of the earth means exactly jack shit

*which roughly equates to 0.0000000666666666666667% of its age, or in terms of something closer to home would mean the average person using the last 2.5 minutes of their life to measure their health for the previous 72 years
