At home yesterday evening, having an inner monologue with Little Restless and the boys. (Unfortunately little is all too apt in my case.)
"Little, leave me alone and go to sleep", I said. "We have work to do. That broom closet full of junk needs to be sorted and cleaned. We've put it off for long enough"
"Screw the work", he answered. "Speaking of Screwing ..............."
"No no no, we have work to do", replied Big Head. (Sadly again far too apt, I'm cursed with a huge melon atop my neck.)
"Why don't we forget about all of this and go for a nice meal", grumbled Insatiable Appetite.
"Boys, boys, this is getting us nowhere", I chimed in. "When we spend all our time arguing, we get nothing accomplished. No work and no fun. What can we do that satisfies all of us?"
"Satisfy, .......fun,........ insatiable,....... all,....... screw, ..... appetite,....... hmmm ................. I know", mused Imperfect Memory. "No, no, it's gone now ...................................Wait, wait, why don't we call Sharla and see if she's available tonight?"
"Brilliant", says Big. "We eat too much anyway", states App. "I'm in, (I hope)", declares Little.
"What were we talking about?" asks Mem. "Go back to sleep" I tell him. "You've worked hard enough for one day."
A quick call was made, and good luck, Sharla had time to see me (us).
Later that evening:
A little wine (OK a lot of wine), a little food, some very pleasant conversation, a lot of exercise for Little Restless and a co-ed shower. (Try the shower guys). We all went home happy.
Now if only I could do something about these voices.
