An Escort website has been taken over

This morning I noticed VCA ( Vancity Ads ) website is in control by a new operator. Does anyone know who this owner is?

I once frequented VCA many moons ago......when it WAS COOL...but I Left it cause it SUCKED and become utterly useless.

To me, VCA has become a site where washed up, shitty providers flock to. Perb and Leo list are, and will forever be the main stage.

Perb, to me, is the Fairmont , The wedge wood, The Pan Pacific of Luxury hotels where VCA ( Vancity ads ) are Surrey's 3 story - low end hotels :nod:.

Can you explain how you mean that it's "been taken over"? Like you, I don't check in there as often as I once did. After the most recent change, I didn't reregister on the site since it no longer really seems like much of a community the way that it once did when it was more forum based. I did like much of the membership there though and I do miss interacting with some of them. I had a quick look to see if I could figure out what you mean and I do see that the chat system there has been changed and some psuedo embedded redirect from another url seems to be on the page. But the rest of the advertising aspects still seem the way it has been since the last site change. Although, I think the "massage" service section is now a "cuddling" service section, which is kind of amusing...

VanWilder is a great guy :thumb:, and what I am hearing ( from more than 2 now ), the new owner doesn't seem to give a fuck about peoples privacy or personal info. If that's the case.....I feel severely sorry for the suckers registering onto that site ound:. Advice.....tread carefully beyond mans capability.

Van wilder is a great guy and during those times of gatherings....that was the time V.C.A was worth being a member of.

The word I saw on the acquiring board is that SP 411 or the piece of work who is behind it, bought VCA. VCA was for sale for awhile. It was on life support anyway, and when VanWilder changed it to try to be compliant with C36, he killed it completely. The small handful of diehards just couldn't pay the bills I guess.

Anyone who has played in Toronto may have experienced the shit show that is the SP 411 board. Public outings are common, and the moderation is ridiculous. The mods are even more corrupt than the Calgary board, and that's saying something. Many TERB members even had their accounts hacked, or attempted to be hacked by the admins behind the board, if they were foolish enough to use the same user name/email/password for both boards.

I don't imagine they will do much with VCA, it's beyond salvage I would think at this point. It used to be a nice little community, they held good social events and the whole thing slid into the ditch somehow.

This thread could be posted as a PSA warning, and I can confirm what's already been said. If you have an account there, you are being warned that your personal, private info is in the hands of a corrupt admin team who will allow your info (and PM's) to be shared, posted publicly and used for their entertainment. They let the worst industry trolls post and out other members.

If you continue to do business with them, my advice would be to change your password there and on every other site where you use the same one. Use a VPN so they can't track your location, use a hobby email address, and don't share personal info.

I also used to be a very active member on VCA, great fun in the lounge and in the 'shout box', and I thought VanWilder was a highly respected owner - but when he changed the format, things started to go sideway and I left.
Sorry to see that it had to end like this, and I wish VanWilder all the best in his future endeavors

When I first started, VCA was the first place I ever placed an ad after graduating from CL ads. I recall clearly getting my first call from a (former) Mod on the board to come & see him. I will always have fond memories of him, and of a few other fellows I met through there. No one has brought me dinner in a really long time!!! Shortly after I found the old ERSList, I found PERB and I have divided all my advertising and online persona since then to those two sources. VanWilder always showed himself to me as nothing but a gentleman. I'm sorry to hear that the site devolved so badly. I learned a lot from my experiences there and from some of the long time providers who told me some ins & outs that I might have learned the hard way, otherwise!

I remember one event that took place in Stanley Park.
An other one in Burnaby when it was Vancouverman's Birthday...OH MY... did he ever get a super duper Birthday Gift....
We also had many meetings for lunch in different Cities as to accommodate everyone.
I attended at least 10 events.
VCA WAS the place to be.
