a friend has attended Sparkling Hill and reported mediocre food.
I've not been there myself, but may wait for a few more reviews or other first hand reviews from friends and palates I trust….merely saying!

I've been to Sparkling Hills four times. The spa, saunas, millennium pool and the many different variations of massages are simply awesome.

Their renowned poor quality of food is exactly that and I recommend eating at Predator Ridge. Predator has numerous food options from Bistro, BBQ to higher end. I've never had a bad meal there in over 10 years.

Sparkling Hills is a ten minute walk up hill from Predator Ridge. If you stay at Predator, they have a courtesy shuttle service up the hill.

*hint* after a day at the spa you will want to shuffle back to your accomodation rather than drive a long distance. I always feel totally wiped out after massage, sauna, pools etc

You must have connections to get Yellow Point reservations on a Long Weekend.

Same crowd goes there every year during the same weeks.

It's a cool place. So laid back.

Yes the tigh I agree I have fond memories of that place the best for a clandestine rendezvous with a much younger lady in a bad relationship that stayed the night,the best accommodation money I ever spent then the brunch next morning with her was the perfect capper to the stay

There's a gem of an English Country Pub The Crow & Gate south of Nanaimo in Cedar. It is a road trip must do especially this time of year with Springtime springing et al. On warm days one can eat outside on very well kept grounds, inside is warm and cozy full of excited hungry folk local and not. Much comfort food and ale to be found.
