It is obvious who is brainwashed here.
The NRA is so good at it!

By the way, before you go yammering about people not knowing anything about guns: there are several here who carried them for years. They were shot at and shot back.
Being a former solider or policeman doesn't mean you know anything about guns. I've met lots who don't know anything more about guns than the one they are carrying.

Let's not forget that the RCMP was found at fault for the illegal Hay River seizures and to this day are making illegal seizures of 25 round Remington 597 magazines because they don't know the law.

i'd additionally like to point out the selective ignorance of gun nuts.

they're quite fine to concede that the more motor vehicles a nation has then the more people driving in that nation.
the more bicycles a nation has then the more people are riding bicycles.
the more blenders a nation has then the more smoothies people are drinking.
that nuclear weapon proliferation is a bad thing.

but no, when provided that the more guns a nation has then the more homicides that nation experiences... somethings suddenly wrong with that equation! or that one firearm that can dispense with six bullets needs to be reloaded after... six bullets. and that multiple firearms with high capacity magazines provides a far more efficient homicide model.

gun ownership does not need to be outlawed. we just need to ensure that not everybody is allowed to have them and the type and nature of firearm possession should come with hurdles that ensure that the right people possess them. 19 year olds with a history of mental health and school disciplinary actions for example.
No ignorance here.

It's people that are the problem, which you just fully admitted by saying who should have them should be a control measure, which has nothing to do with what guns look like, how many rounds they carry or the size of round they fire. You've actually supported my stance.

Guns are inanimate objects. They are neither good nor evil. They are used by both heroes and villains and carry a moral responsibility.

By the way, there are more cars on the road now than ever before but the fatality rate has been decreasing, just like gun ownership has increased, but fatality rates have been on the decline.

Try using the internet and looking it up. Also read the articles and not just the headlines.

Lets ban people from earth. They can all go to the Moon or Mars or Venus (I'll go to Venus, thank you very much, Elon). Let the earth be inhabited only by guns. Lets at least assign gender to them so they can have sex.

Oh, yeah, guns are inanimate objects and so are harmless. Let Kim Jong Un have all the nuclear bombs. I think nuclear bombs are inanimate, too. But I'll let Poorboy correct me cuz he knows everything under the sun.

Nuclear bombs are inanimate. It's Kim Jon Un that is dangerous. Russia, America, China, France, the UK, India, Pakistan and Israel also have nuclear weapons, but there aren't other countries ganging up on them to get rid of their nuclear arsenals.

When's the last time you've seen a nuclear arms protest in Russia or the U.S.?

There were anti nuclear signs at some of the Me Too marches.

Right. Kim is dangerous and shouldn't have nuke.

But gun control is out of question, right?

I never said gun control is out of the question.

I said Americans don't want more gun control.

If laws were properly enforced, that would stem a lot of the problems.

The FBI didn't follow up on their tip about the Florida shooter.

In one of your previous post you said, "gun bans do not work". You also said, "the best thing Government can actually do in the U.S. is nothing."

That seems to me like you imply gun control is out of question.

"Americans don't want more gun control"? Really? Read this.

Bans don't work. Schools are gun free zones by Act of Congress. How did that turn out?

You are quoting yet another poll. 55% is not exactly an overwhelming majority either. Unlike polls, court decisions are binding and real. They speak to a different reality.

Washington DC opposed concealed carry, but lost their court battle in October 2017 and will be allowing it in their district.

guns are cheap in the states too, so fairly easy for a low income earner to afford. higher quality handguns were under $500 at fred meyer when i was looking at them on friday. cheaper then a 4k tv. in canada these handguns go from $700-1000 and of course are restricted.

Guns are relatively cheap in Canada as well. You can expect to pay almost double the price for some guns in Europe.

That's the only thing that has been shown effective in reducing firearm sales.

I wrote early on that Remington has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Colt is also in bankruptcy. Federal ammunition has made layoffs. Prices across the industry have been the cheapest in decades. It's called the Trump slump.

If the government starts talking about increased legislation, you'll see a massive spike in sales. Obama's continued effort to bring in new legislation pushed firearm and ammunition sales to record breaking levels when he was in office. Manufacturers were working around the clock and were still backlogged. He was the best thing that ever happened to the firearms industry.

Look it up. The greatest gun salesman in U.S. history was Obama.

And doing nothing will prevent more mass shooting?

Your lunatic logic about talk of gun control spiking gun sales is contradicted by your own info about Remington and Colt going belly up. Obama retired just a year ago. Any talk of gun control during his presidency must have resulted in lower gun sales, the reason for Remington and Colt going bankrupt.

Guns and Ammo sales actually spiked way up during Obama's presidency. Americans were paranoid about any new Gun legislation so they went on a buying binge for 8 years.

You didn't look it up.

Someone stepped in and did it for you though.

Look at the facts. You'll make better educated decisions.

right here and now
Third graders in Missouri are selling raffle tickets for an AR-15 to fund their baseball team.

What happened to selling chocolates or cookies or having a bake sale?
I read the article- Coach Patterson is just a drooling throwback. "my heart goes out..." Gimme a fucking break.
Typical example of rationalizing your actions in a society that not only accepts but promotes gun culture.
