Holy moly.
I've read and hear stories but never encounter this… Single boys have it tough while swimming in the sea full of fish and finding love online… well at least for me. Is this a mediocre or an expert level scam artist?
I met this bird off pof but it’s no different than the five other apps I have. They all start with some sort of pleasantry then evolve into some sort of investing into stocks or cryptocurrency, sending money to somewhere. Or better yet, give out your number and she just un-matches you and never contacts you. If I’d be a betting man, I’ll say they sell phone numbers because I keep on getting spam calls. *sigh*. Can’t exactly give out an app number either…. and start off in a relationship full of deceits and lies.
But this one… the story starts by saying how she broke with ex-boyfriend and that she bought him a car, pays rent for his apartment and yet cheats on her with her friends. She broke up with him and abandoned all her friends and that's she been lonely since then. Perfect! A rich sugar mamma babe! Finally, retirement can be seen, and my dream garage being built!
She lives in Abbotsford but now she’s in South Africa taking care of her dad in the hospital due to a medical condition while he was working internationally. Her mom died when she was 10 and her dad is the only thing she had left. So naturally she would be there taking care of him, very honorable. Normally red flags are alerting me danger! Danger! but I reversed image search on two different engines of the imagines she sent me and there were zero hits, except for the last facebook photo which I just let my guard down because the other ones were safe. Next up, the LinkedIn account, she had 500 something connections and 920 followers, a chartered accountant for Newton Enterprise a construction firm according to the website. Under the company’s LinkedIn page there were employee’s director of whatever branch from a foreign country, so yea very plausible that this company has contracts internationally hence why he was in Africa and that she’s wealthy.
We messaged through hangouts/google chat, an app I’ve never heard or used but she added me on WhatsApp later too and a Montreal number appeared. A bit confused, so I slipped in; heeyy I’m feeling some scammie vibes here then proceed to explains her father wanted to retire in Abbotsford and they have moved from there. Still being unsure with some doubt she then sends me her passport outta the blue. Of course, that’s weird! but it relieved any doubt I had, and she felt like a real person. Thank God my bestie set me straight as he is a photoshop expert and someone I trust with my life said that anyone can make a LinkedIn account. If I didn’t know any wiser, I can totally see how someone could get scammed big time…. but in my mind, I still thought she was real. Anyway, later that night I’ve compared my passport and I was choked that I let this go on this long… wasted so much time crafting long lovely messages for a week.
The real passports have a serial number punched throughout the pages but this one has been PS out; the issuing authority of the passport is supposed to be a city not a province same with place of birth.
The next day I asked for a video chat and there’s no way she’ll decline this request because she kept saying I’m awesome, cool, nice person repeatedly. But she replies saying she dropped her phone down the stairs and it’s damaged badly so no more photos or videos. I was about to text her YO you better set aside some cash in an emergency, but I was too late. She texted back saying she got mugged while out buying lunch and since there’s covid the streets were empty, and the thieves had made out with her purse with all the cards and cash meanwhile her phone was charging in the hospital. She had to cancel the cards and she needed money to buy meds for her dad…. But I told her the only way I would consider sending money is an exchange with a selfie photo with a keyword I select but the camera is broken. The weird part is she didn’t want me to transfer money but chase her clients for money then wire that to her? at this point I told her I couldn’t help since I’m working offshore … Regardless this ended, and she blocks me and on to her next victim.
Is there something else that can top this? Other than a girl marrying you and keeps screws her BF while I’m out working hard to pay for this super expensive home, she demanded to buy then files for a divorce and taking half my shit? Yea I’m bitter about love and there’s no such thing. I’ll just have to stick to the top tier courtesans at least I know they are real. Thanks, Perb and its members for providing a site where I can rely on and being safe while fulfilling my needs.
//rant end
PS I’ve started talking to another bird from hinge… and gave out my real number again. I guess this old dog never learns…. She’s into cryptocurrency too, but she’s less aggressive so far. Time will tell when I get home and ask for a meet up since she’s currently residing in West Vancouver.
PPS is there a website or app to see if it’s a text app number? For the life me I can’t seem to find anything
Take care boys!
