How does Airbnb and Vrbo work. Say I want to do an outcall but don't want to stay the full day. So like does a person come out of the house give me a key for like the suit they are renting, then when I want to leave I go knock on their door and give it back to them? Because that would be really awkward in my honest opinion.

We have both here in Manitoba. I really haven't used either a lot but I haven't seen "by the hour". The ones I have used have all had the keys on site in a lock box. Never had to meet anyone.

air bnb doesn't do hourly rentals.... I don't think we have Vrbo in Canada

I don't mean doing it by the hour. I don't mind paying the full price as I'll probably be staying there for a decent number of hours if I go. Just no overnight. Pretty much is it awkward to clock-out early at an Airbnb? Also glad to hear they have keys on site in a box, so you never interact with the hosts, right? That would be perfect if so.

Also Ms. Beckett, I did find some hits on Vrbo for our city. I think we should have one.

Ahhhhh. Yeah it depends on the air bnb, some hosts you meet them and some you don’t. If you’re looking to rent a place for several hours for a provider you can always tell her to hit me up for a rental.

On AirBNB, look for listings that have self check-in. These usually give you a code or access to a lockbox to let yourself in and out so no need to meet a host but that does not mean you may not run into them accidentally or for another reason, specially if they live on same premises. It's not awkward to check out early, in my opinion.

Thank you all for the info. I guess I would have to search around more for properties that are not shared/on the same land, and have self check-in.
