Is it just me ? I am fed up with ther total lack of customer service
and arrogance. I have so many problems this year with trying change flights ,use credits for cancelled flights and trying to use reward miles, I just give up. I am never flying with them again. Everytime I speak to someone there I feel my blood boiling...

Am I going insane ? Tell ne that I am not alone

You are SO not alone, alexboy. AC sucks ass, and has been getting steadily worse for quite some time. I have never had such rude customer service as I did when I talked to a woman at their telephone flight booking center. She was uninformative, short, brisk, and haughty. I always fly WestJet. Never had a problem with them.

Or try PERB Airlines... where the stewardess will make sure you'll get the utmost stress-relief and TLC from the ground or from the air. and you'll get an instant membership to the Mile High Club.

I don't trust AC as far as I can throw them. I don't even use their crap carriers like JetsGo. It's WestJet or nothing for me out west here. Otherwise I'll drive anywhere I need to go (I never go far enough away to be in a position where AC is the only carrier - don't know what I'll do when I'm faced with that). The last time I used AC was almost 20 years ago on a flight overseas. I'm glad to see WJ has flights to Eastern Canada if I ever need them.

Had a problem with AC in January so sent a letter all I got back was a form letter that did not even acknowledge what was in my letter.

I fly anywhere from 50 to 100 flights a year and won't use them again.

BLAH!!!!

You might also want to try Alaska Airlines, although they don't have routes to Toronto or Montreal , they're services and prices are quite good.

AC International yes but local no!

They don't make any money locally, so they don't put much customer services into it. But their international flights are nicer.

Lost my bags three times in one year

Air Canada lost my bags between Calgary and Vancouver three times in one year. One time it was my clubs and golf shoes and I missed a T-Time.

I started getting off the plane and going straight to customer service.

I finally said the hell with the air miles, just fly me Westjet all the time. Screw Air Canada - not that anyone there would really care.

All the employees of AC that I ever dealt with couldn't have cared less about anything.

There's my rant I hate those bastages.

Yep, to hell with the air miles. Just to burn them up I brought my ex house sitter back out here from Toronto first class here and back for a weekend !. I still have 10,000 left.

Maybe we could have a contest and donate them??or barter ??????

PS , West Jet does give you the AIRMILE miles...

SomeWhere East ....
What's more ... why support the eastern bastards - do they really care after they have counted up all their federal seats east of Mainitoba? Letum freeze in the dark! Support the west!
Actually AC has lost soooo much consumer confidence, I doubt even easterners will be compelled to call for gov't bailout this time of our so called 'national carrier'.
My .02$ - It feels good to rant once awhile doesn't it?

Maybe I've been lucky, but I personally haven't experienced anything too horrifying with Air Canada apart from long gate lineups, their tight-ass upgrade rules (gotta buy full fare) and relative lack of service out of Edmonton. I do miss Canadian though - plenty of upgrades to first-class and top-notch service. I also laugh at Air Canada's policy of starting up these multiple no-frills airlines - shit, no wonder they're losing money!

No more Canadian Airlines.

They said that buying Canadian Airlines in 2000 was supposed to make both companies better. Now we got the worst of both of them.

[Some of the best airlines I have flown, have been British Airways, Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, and Cathay Pacific [/B][/QUOTE]

I've flown with BA recently and I agree that the service overall was superb as well as Lufthansa and CP.

How's the seating arrangement at Aer Lingus,Jack?, is it as wide and comfortable as BA?

Can't believe AC service. As I have business interests in Australia, I am always looking for a deal for either me or my SO to get there.

Two years ago January, had my SO fly from YVR to SYD on AC.

On the leg from YVR to HNL, the galley wasn't working and there was no meal nor was there any hot water for tea. To Add insult to injury, there was no vodka so she had to have a Gin Gibson. She was promised that the galley problem would be solved in HNL It wasn't and she had nothing to eat for almost 22 hours.

She refused to fly home on AC and the one way on QANTAS was five times the AC RT fare. However, had I booked her QANTAS RT. it was only $200 more than AC RT. Beleive me, I booked her on QANTAS for her last two trips. These are big ticket bookings. No wonder AC is going broke.
