anyone every try out air guns? are they fun?

I always see the ones they have a Camouflage on Granville. There is also a place in Langley that will mail order them to you. They have some pretty cool looking ones:

weren't they banned because they were "dangerous"?
they aren't real firearms so you can't license them, but yet they are considered as dangerous, even though they're less deadly than a BB-gun. so one of them technicalities where not dangerous enough to be licenses, but considered too dangerous for the public... :D

Most of the "danger" is the police shooting you if someone has seen you playing with it and you don't do exactly what the police want when they come. Two or three cases in Vancouver alone.

There was also a case of the police shooting a teen with a water pistol that looked too real.

airsoft is one that isnt defined yet, its legal, and not legal, they just havent made a decision on them. they look like the real things, so they often are said to be replicas, but they fire, but they fire slower then a certain speed, muzzle velocity, so they arent classified as a firearm. basically at this point they are quasi-legal.

as the previous poster said ... dangerous ... yes .... banned .... no

Some of them look and feel like original pistol ( minus noise and recoil )
They are fun to shoot, and you can even have a shooting range setup in your garage .... or the living room ( before you plan to remodel it )

There are pistols and rifles available ...... ask Perb resident "Bond girl" about her air rifle. ..... damn.... I love girls with guns

I've had airguns for years and still enjoy them. The main thing to remember is that they come in generally two different types if you are planning to buy one: gas and air powered. Gas powered tend to be more powerful, but they are expensive to operate because you have to buy the gas. If you are a first time buyer I recommend a break barrel, single shot, single pump air powered rifle. The best brand name is Gamo, but you will also find many good starter guns from Crosman and Daisy. Also, stick to pellet guns of .177 cal. because they are the most common. BB guns are cheaper, but they are only accurate to a distance of about 30 feet while pellet guns are more accurate beyond 30 feet. And, remember, they are not toys and must be treated with the utmost respect at all times!!! Hope this helps.
