Agency or independant?

After reading alot of posts on here, I'm left wondering which is the preferance for you pooners. Agency or independant?

Would you not see an sp just because she works for an agency? Do you feel safer or like your money is well spent after seeing an independant as aposed to the agency ladies?

Just something I'm wondering.

Hi Nina,
I can only answer based on my own experiences but I prefere an independant.There are several reasons for this.
I have always tried to get to know the lady...and no, I'm not prying into their personal life, but getting to know them as a person. When you know and like someone everything else is better, independant's seem to have the time and inclination to go this route.
Then there's the monetary aspect, I prefere to donate my hard earned dollars to the person providing the service and not a third party, who in this instance is often a sleazy pimp-like creature that instead of getting off of their oversized derriere and earning their own way, would rather make money off the labours of others.
Then there's the safety aspect, here an agency can be useful....the idea of going to meet someone new must be very daunting, so having someone looking out for your personal safety is probably comforting.
Lastly there's your own comfort level, spending a few bucks on a website and cellphone is a small investment that allows you to screen your own client's, work only when you want and see fewer client's thus providing a better service, also making for a happier clientele.
Safety should alway's be formost on your mind and having a network of friends who know what you do can accomplish this.

Thanks gentelmen. Although the studio I work in is owned and operated by two other sp's. There is no flashy man taking any of our profits. In fact, the door rate for every client goes to the rent, utilities and so on. We are as independant as sp's could ever be. Only in a studio form.
My point is, had I not mentioned all this, would you have overlooked our studio, simply because we don't "look" independent?
As to bait n switch, and other nasty game play, I know that it does occur, but it's usually issolated to certain studios or individuals. Only time and experience will show the good from the bad. The great thing about perb is pooners and sp's can let oneanother know who is straight up and who isn't.

Nina, I have alway felt more comfortable with an independant having an apartment. I feel that a house is open to scrutiny by neighbours and that an agency is on the radar of local LE. If you are in a coop setting the only thing you have to watch is the traffic and your neighbours.
