Affordable Fashion...

From what I know, after the building collapse in Bangladesh, many manufacturers pulled out. One that stayed was Canada`s own Joe Fresh. They are committed to helping rebuild the garment district and help keep people (mostly woman and young ladies) employed. If I am not mistaken the building inspector in the centre of the controversy also committed suicide.

A recent sweater purchase had me looking at the label curiously. I'd never noticed a Made in Bangladesh label before.
i met a fella from bangladesh just last week. his mother used to work there... her job used to be sewing on the labels that said, 'made in taiwan!' lol :D

china has been steadily losing work to other nations who are willing to work for less, just as they stole the work from mexico. It's an awful race to the bottom...

That's a good one. :)

I may suggest that yes, fashion is expensive. But style costs nothing.
I buy almost all of what I would call my 'dressup' clothes and shoes second hand. I favour a few specific second hand stores that support organizations whose work I support & appreciate. Somewhere in the Fraser Valley I believe, lives a woman who is my exact size, shape and taste that donates all her clothing (barely used!) and shoes (hardly worn!) to this one thrift store. One of my favourite outfits is a really figure hugging burgundy Ann Taylor dress and a pair of peeptoe pumps I've mentioned elsewhere...LOL The entire outfit cost me $29.00, and it benefited a clean water project at the same time. What could be better?

yep, i had an friend that LOVED fur coats and jackets, and had quite a collection of stunning ones - none of which cost her more than $35!!

and it's amazing how little you can get away with wearing under a fur coat, lol

Makes sense, considering it's another animal's actual skin. It's not meant to have to wear anything underneath, the dead animal never had a need to before he was killed so his skin could be worn by a confused ape (or he died after a demented ape stole his skin, depending on which order it happened). If it was warm enough for a fox, it makes sense that it is for a confused ape too!

Affordable fashion????

Isn't that an oxymoron?
Contrary to what the fashion houses would want you to believe, fashion has nothing to do with how much money you paid for your clothes. Fashion has everything to do with how you
choose to dress... which is free. There are lots of rich people that are fashion disasters... and lots of people with hardly any money that are ultra fashionable.
