Advertising as an SP - Can it be anonymous?

I was trying to help a friend advertise on LL, when I found out that they require a copy of government issued ID before they allow it. They said its to help them prevent fraud, which I have trouble believing.

I know Eros required identification to be sent in as well.

For an industry that's built on discretion and a certain amount of anonymity, I find this all a bit disconcerting. Are there ways of advertising without having to give your identity to a third party?

Was that Leolist itself or their billing company SegPay? Segpay fucked me around in the past accusing me of fraud but my bank confirmed it was bullshit , then SegPay demanded my ID to unblock my IP. I declined their offer.

I switched to BTC

It looks like LL themselves since I'm not even given the option of selecting a payment processor. Looks recent too since her account had successful charges as early as this September.

Maybe it is a new policy for girls who don't apply for verified status? I'm sitting here with my ATF who is verified on LL and she has not had to submit any ID.

Yes it is a new requirement when you want to use the gift card feature on LL. You can use bitcoin to pay "as you go" for ads but if you want to have a gift card balance they are asking for gov. issued ID. They also said its to cut down on fraud.

I think they should have an option to use gift card top ups with bitcoin with no ID and gift card top ups with credit card with ID. That would cover them for the fraud part unless there is something else not aware of.

Paying "as you go" would be very annoying for me, I like to have a large amount on gift card so can quickly log in and bump without going through the btc payment ordeal. If you are a low volume poster and can do the auto bump thing you might be able to get away without the ID.

I’m not verified and I didn’t have to show ID when I paid yesterday with CCBILL.

This only seems to be for new accounts and strictly for using the "gift card" top up option.
