Acidic Semen?

For the past month the head of my penis seems to be extra sensitive to my ejaculate/semen.

If I dont wash up immediately afterwards, it gets itchy after a few hours and starts to even peel a bit.

This never used to be the case. In the past, I could even masterbate, towel off and I there would be no issues the next day. It seems now, the semen seems to be more acidic or something. Possibly something to do with PH levels? Is it a symptom of an STD?

I always practice safe sex and use a condom during intercourse, however I have received a bbbj on a few occasions.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi rishan999

It is really hard to diagnose conditions over the internet as we would need to see it, do some tests and go through your medical history.

From the symptoms you describe it does not sound like an STI.

From what you describe it sounds like the head (glans) is getting irritated. It could be balanitis which is basically inflammation of the head of the penis. There are many different things that can cause balanitis e.g. bacteria, fungus, irritation from chemicals etc. For example it could be a new lube that you may be using or with fungus, moister is an issue. I wonder if it is the semen that is causing the problem or maybe it could just be the extra moisture that is causing the problem. It can be difficult to know.

We recommend anyone who is having sex to get a test for STI. I would suggest that you come in to get a test. You can also discuss what has been happening to the head of your penis and we can give you some suggestions. If you go to the main clinic at 655 west 12th they have doctors on site that would be able to look at it for you.

You can also send me a PM if you want to discuss some other issues.

Let us know if you want us to expand on a topic. Remember if you would like to ask me a personal question just send me a PM.
