A lot of SPs use WeChat and I tried to download WeChat. Looks like I need to be invited by someone who uses WeChat. I am a newbie on WeChat, how can I set it up. Please help.

You need to be verified from someone in China or on your contacts,mainly chinese.
Before 2019 anyone can register the app,now it's all a prayer to know an amp to be friends.

Wonder if you are being invited by the same person who has been dogging me to get on it. Impossible. Used to be on it and somehow wasn't any more. After dozens of tries I finally got them to accept my user name and a new password. Went to the next step of asking someone to link me and when we went through the steps I was still locked out. "phone number doesn't exist. User name doesn't exist" I gave up.

After you swear allegiance to Tencent regulators, stand on your hear while clicking up-volume and power button 3 times fast, then scan the QR code with your mom’s phone and text the verification details to your phone, then hit enter and wait a while. Worked for me 🤪

Or befriend a current user. Use a random avatar, like a stupid rock or something—not your real pic! And don’t sass the regime.

Not such a great app, but it does have it’s following. Whatsapp better, especially in Europe/overseas.
