Interesting case. Their argument was by posting positive reviews, the men are, in fact, promoting prostitution. Therefore, they were charged. I'm not a lawyer but I was always led to believe that prostitution is not illegal, solicitation is.
The sex trade is complicated. People are in it for a variety of reasons and for various durations. There's no doubt some girls are being forced into performing sex for money. But ladies I see are so happy to be doing this. We have so much fun together I can't imagine somebody is forcing them to this against their will. Some environments foster abuse and we all know who they are. So maybe we should do our part and try to avoid them. Organized groups such as WCA, Outlook and Luxus appear to offer safe, clean incall locations for the girls to work out of which I think is a good thing for everyone involved.
I think review boards are a good thing, at least this one. I like it because of the variety of topics being discussed. It's not all about escort reviews. It's sports, it's politics, it's human interest, it's whatever comes to mind. There's also a lot of good advice being passed on. Sometimes I feel a sense of camaraderie among us in this community which I like. Even though we're all hiding under assumed names, you can tell a lot about each individual by the comments they make. This, in turn, speak volumes on ones character. So when a lady is contacted for an appointment, she at least has some references on who she's conversing with which is a good thing.
So I guess the moral of the story is the next time you write a review, refrain from promotion or you may end up behind bars.

While I agree with most of what you said I don't agree with the last part. Following that line of reasoning should we fund anyone who hates their job, retrain them in a new field that they like? and if the answer is 'yes' then should students be funded for post secondary training?
If the answer is 'no' then the lesson would be if you want to be retrained then start working as a prostitute so you can get free retraining.
Personally I feel prostitution should be legalized, exploitation in any form should be dealt with severe punishment.
and.....let's not forget why review boards emerged.....to protect clients from violence and robbery...
before the review boards it was russian roulette....the clients were alone in trying to find honest sp's who would treat them with dignity. the john's voice research said even now...42% of clients reported experiencing violence when trying to purchase sex....
that violence is unacceptable and also in turn causes violence against sp's.....
i was very against review boards at first and was the subject of some long deleted really harsh reviews ....as they were back then...i was not well known or an advocate then...the reviews were pretty bad back in the day...
but i had worked for an agency who were robbing almost every client systematically....some times they would rob the same guy 2 or 3 times in a row.....
it was nuts, and people including me...got hurt....
after that i understood why places like perb were absolutely necessary if we were ever going to see stability in our industry.
