I see many videos of dogs that people have abandoned on the side road, somewhere in the country or in cities It’s heart breaking to see these poor scared and in some cases starving dogs and puppies that people have simply left to fend for themselves. A dog will love you unconditionally and never deserve to be treated like this. Thankfully there are compassionate people that rescue these dogs and give them another start in life.

Abandonment is an option. But like most things in life, there's a right way to do it - properly surrendering an animal to a shelter that accepts surrenders. I'm not going to judge why someone has to (or feels like that have to) give their pet up - but I've volunteered in enough animal shelters to know that the "shame" people feel when they surrender their animal is very real. I would gander that "shame" also stops many people from actually taking their animal to a proper shelter to be surrendered. I'm not saying you're trying to shame people - but alot of people do - educating people on options is a much better option.

I’m talking about leaving a dog on the side of the road to starve, get run over or whatever. That’s abandonment and not an option in my books.

Humans will abandon anything. Houses, cars, furniture, pets, children.

No, its a poor excuse for our society, where individuals do not know where to turn for help. Not old enough nor educated enough, to know the difference.... Where you come from in society etc.

Feed your family or your pet.... A hard choice.... The pet looses.....

Food banks are having a hard time too, new regulations. Sit downs are changing to pickup instead of the sitdown dinner.

People are having a hard time to pay rent let alone internet access, and cell phone etc.

Backyard gardens are a thing of the past, the switching of food source to big grocery stores.... all for convenience. That happened years ago.... So most people are not in the habit of storing food in the summer and fall. Canning etc. Most apartments have small freezers.

So a human and their pet are trapped in lockdown. One of them dies.... The pet will easily eat its owner then the owner eating their dead pet.... But hunger is a great motivator.......

Its not a pretty world out there..... Most people are isolated from it. It hits hard when reality/their world comes crashing down...

Society's failsafes are cracking.....

You mean the pet Loses don’t mind me. Just my personal crusade to educate people on the difference between lose and loose. It’s not that hard to differentiate the two.

Anyone that would just abandon their pet discarding them like garbage is a selfish worthless piece of shit in my book.

I have four dogs, one by choice, the other three were strays I took in and care for. I wouldn't give any of them away now, for any reason, they are great!
