1) Everyone (I know) uses a Crock-Pot...not old.
2) Out of the way greasy diners have worse furniture than that....not old.
3) Found a set of Jacks at my grandparents place, rummaging through a box of my parent old toys.....not old.
4) Telephone cubicles? ...???
5) Potato Masher....still use one....not old..
6) Mercurochrome.....once, again at Grandparents, she had some stored since the 50s.....not old. (I also had to do a book report on "Chronicles of a Death Foretold" by Gabriel García Márquez where the woman in the story had to spot some on the bedsheets to prove she was a virgin...I had to look up what Mercurochrome was)
7) Speed setting for Vinyl record players....since they are making a coming back, everyone knows that.....never old.
8) You can still buy Jiffy-Pop...not old.
9) Foot Measure, I still see them around at shoe store....not old.
10) Car Lighters, people still drive 1990s model cars.....not old
11) Dolls to hide extra toilet paper in the bathroom; at my grandparents, again....not old.
12) Credit Card receipt printers. Worked retail fresh out of high-school, still had one of those in case the Interac machine went down....not 'that' old.
13) Foiled wrapped ding-dongs...when I was a kid....not 'that' old.
14) Old school can lid, before they snap and pop inward, they were tabs you pull off.... no longer used in beer and pop, but used in baby formula and Ensure.....not 'that' old.
15) Washboard....saw watching Tom & Jerry cartoons that involved pissing off the maid....not 'that' old.
16) Knew it was a light for a cash registers ....never shopped at a K-mart to know what it truly meant.......
17) Shoe-whitening.....nope, Gen-X'er here....that kind of shit get your ass-beat.....not old.
18) Walnut utensils..... now we're savages above using such things?....not old.
19) Nacho cheese. ...still used....not old.
20) Cheerleader Batons from the 50s.....again, sifting through my grandparent's relics....not old.
21) Meat tenderizer..... still use one.....not old.
22) Ugly quilt on the couch,...yup....grandparents again....not old.
23) Car radio..... not 'that' old...
24) Phyllis Diller......again, Grandparents....as a kid, I remember getting a kick from her laughing.....not 'that' old.
25) Dimmer Button on old cars....Dad was a gear-head for vintage cars.....not old.
26) Pre-packed X-mas candy......can't say I got that particular item, but there were others. .....not old.
27) Personal Phone book.... again, grandparents....used it as a 'boobytrap' for my GI-Joes..... not old.
28) Coffee Percolator ....still used by outdoors men, and roughnecks......not old.
29) Make Up Mirror, ...again, grandparents had one....portable fun-house mirror....not old.
30) Drive-In Theater speaker.....uh, yeah....no excuse....I'm old.
31) Cap-guns....had all sorts, the paper-strip types and the plastic ring....you can still buy them in dollar stores.....not old.
32) Silly Puddy.... more dollar store crap you can get today....not old.
33) ViewMaster Reels...not as popular, but you can still buy them off Amazon and ebay like vintage comics.....not 'that' old.
34) Music Chalkboard Staff liner......I believe they still use them, (in schools that still teach music)....not old; or maybe I am....?
35) Duo-Chair glider swing (for kids?)..... you see a trillion of them on Pinterest these days,.... not old.
Going through the list, I can't say I'm 'that' old, since most of my knowledge comes from visiting my grandparents who store all this stuff like a museum. A 40+ year old Gen-X'er burn out with one foot in the past and another in the present, spanning 3-4 cultural generations knowing a lot.
