A question for my fellow Mac users...

I need to install Internet Explorer on my Mac and I am running OSx 10.4. On the IE site, I can only find the latest download (IE8 I think) for Windows. I may have found version 5 (or was it 6) for Mac. Is this the latest version I can get? Can, or more importantly should I run IE on a Mac? I don't want to cause any conflicts. I currently use Safari & Firefox and now need to use IE for something...can I?
Anyone?

Mac use Firefox....

Apple Web browsing -

Use Firefox for anything related to personal information including banking, password protected web-sites.

Safari has holes and even paypal.com does not recommend its use for their transacations. Opera also has a smaller market.

You can also try the User Agent Switcher extension for Firefox

NO need to load another browser as Safari can imitate all kinds of browsers.

IF you are running Safari 3.2.1 ----preferences----Advanced---check off Develop Menu----the extra Develop menu will appear between Bookmarks and Window Menu's. Click on Develop Menu---User Agent--- Pick any IE browser that you may need to use--IE 5.2.3 to IE 7.0...IF you are running Safari 4.0 beta you can also imitate IE 8.0 beta.

Go back to the website that gave you trouble and presto your browser will be seen as Internet Explorer.

Thanks for all the tips so far...I should have mentioned that the CMS I am using (for other work) evidently works better using IE. I have been using Firefox but ran into a problem and they said I should be managing and making changes using IE.

I use Konqueror and Firefox on Kubuntu with no problems or needs...

I switched over to a MAC this January and use Firefox. Not one problem to date.

Also download Onyx as a cleaner to keep things tidy and neat
