Let me tell you a little bit more. It is a "free" site with links to lots of porn sites.You do have to sign up which I did quickly, using a hotmail address.

The part that interests me is the live cams. The girls are hot and they actually take it all off, with no payment required. Yesterday I saw a young lady please herself front and back with two big dildos.

Now the question-What is the catch? I wonder if this site may be using this lure of free web cams for some other purpose. The implantation of spy ware? I don't know. Perhaps I am paranoid.

I just upgraded my operating system (I am using a Mac powerbook with OSX) and given my Harddrive a thurough cleaning. One reason I did this was that I found out that there was some sort of spyware in my system.

Actually much of this is speculation on my part. What I found out was that when I was connected to the web through my friend's DSL line that there was a huge ammount of activity on the system. He told me that it was actually in the form of uploads rather than downloads. This meant the his download/upload useage was significantly up when I was connected.

Now I know that (rather I think that) such things as live video feed will probably use up download gigs (not sure what to call this) . But why would the upload usage increase? Seems that some info was being uploaded from my computer.

I wonder if any of you tech guys have any ideas about what may have been going on. The problem seems to have been fixed as I wiped my Harddrive and have now set up a non-adminastrative user account for connecting with the internet. But I am also being cautious and staying of this site I mention until further notice.

But I did think that you guys may enjoy it-just be careful and have security in place.

If it was windows I would say somew sorta virus like sassar that invades your email and just starts grabbin e-mails from your address book and mailing it's self out to propogate the virus, and thats where all the upload action is coming from. Or a trojan and some one else is using your computer to do their dirty work on another computer.

But with Mac virus's and spyware is really not a problem. You must be super unlicky to caught a bug in your mac. Like you said nothing to do but grab some software to clean it out, or make it a good time to do the ultra clean up and format and reload.

If your Mac has good virus blocking software, then it may be that your IP is being used as a Supernode.

Does who use a 3rd party video player? And how would I know?

What is a supernode? Wait, I just looked that up on the web and now I know. Yes, I thought about this. I downloaded Edonkey a few mos. ago to try to download some porn, with out much success. Downloading on Edonkey was painfullt slow.

I have since wondered if this did not have something to do with this problem.

So perhaps you could tell me a bit more about supernodes. I know what they are but not really what they would be used for.

One thought was that my computer was being used to send or route "spam". Is this a possibility.

And by the way, since I wiped and reloaded, everything seems normal. We will do a check of the download traffic tonight.
