The Internet is a relatively new means of information, and for some of us life-long SP users, the PERB site is very new. I stumbled in here by mistake, and have found a lot of the members to be pompous and stuck up toward "nebies" or "rookies." Is it a trust thing? Look, a lot of us have been doing this longer than some of you have been out of puberty, so if a "newbie" asks for information that can't be searched, such as a hot new piece of property, would it kill you guys to send a PM?

You think this site is bad for shittin on noobs. Hit the Import tuner sites where half the members of the forum are 18 working at McDonalds or Wallmart and own $25000 cars, put on some spiffy rims and figger their king shit of terd island.

Hitrack, thanks for the input, I didn't want to come off as insulting, as this site is extremely helpfull and has a lot of up-front honest people, but when a person in his 40's is treated like he's new to this, and should not be entitled to inside info, its a little tough to take. I DO understand, but its time to give "newbies" the same respect you seem to show the other "veterans."

This site is no different than life itself. When you move into a new crowd, you're not likely to fit in right away. Just be patient and contribute. Posters will get used to you, get to know your style, and maybe get to like you.

It's not that there isn't respect for age or experience, it's that nobody knows right away whether a new member is what they say they are.
Plenty of shills, people with an axe to grind, and people who fabricate stories to gain attention. It is mostly a matter of trust.
After all, it *really* sucks to plunk down hundreds of dollars on a phony tip and wind up with a bad experience. Worse case can even result in a dangerous encounter.

PERB is potluck
A lot of people think of PERB as sort of a potluck party, where the best information is given to the guys who have contributed such information themselves. SP reviews are treated like currency; guys will give it up but often expect something in return.
If a newbie posts in the lounge asking for people to name their dog or to give them car stereo advice, they'll likely get a lot of free help. But if a newbie gets on and starts asking about which girls will allow which service/fetish without having contributed anything themselves, it's like bringing a doggy bag to a potluck party, filling it up and leaving.
