A mid summer night's storm

Anyone else in the Vancouver area enjoying this evening's stormy weather? The flashes and sounds of not so distant lightning and thunder. That crisp smell of a summer rain. I wish it were a bit cooler but otherwise, I'm rather enjoying it.

Lots of lighting for the last 90 minutes where I live. I am enjoying hanging out on my deck.

I hadn't even noticed the sunset -- my view was not in that direction -- but I checked it out when you mentioned it and you're right. It's wildly colourful and beautiful!

Quite the impressive light show.
I haven't ever seen it like this is in the Vancouver area before.
2 different types of lightning happening on either side of me, at the same time, and that thunder was rattling the house. Some of the lightning sounded like someone banging metal pots together, bizarre.

I hope the 200,000 people down at English Bay are enjoying the weather.
I think this show will be even more impressive than the Fireworks.

I don't face that direction either... I face the north - ocean and mountains, but could see it reflect on the buildings.. and when I looked down that direction I saw it!

This has been the most awesome storm in a while!

Very cool! Live in White Rock and face Boundary Bay. Light show was fantastic. A couple of the hits were right above the house .

yes the sky is outrageously RED....crazy and beautiful...
i was enjoying the sun at the waterslides...ultimate enjoyment with a few friends and there kids....and then we were told we couldn't slide anymore due to the weather....

sadly I returned home to watch the storm from inside...lol
