There was an ancient Greek philosopher named Xeno who developed what is known as Xeno's Paradox. According to this paradox, the one who is ahead in a race at any given point, will always be ahead.

Personally, I think Xeno was a moron, but what do I know?
There's another paradox to who is/was in first place, don't forget the guy
who was so far behind in the race actually thought he was in first! :D
Then again what the hell do I know about paradox's.

Confucious say, mans mind like parachute, only work when open !

Hey AM thank you for saying our city is the best you ever visited, not to
mention like you said we have the best ladies anywhere.
Care to tell us where you're heading and calling home next.

Community Development Project

My New Concept of Home is about putting aside the personal dwelling and building projects in favour of meeting the needs of the community at large.
So that's why you built the tables for BBC. It was a community development project!

This is the coolest thing that you have written, that I can relate to, it makes alot of sense. If more people were to adapt a similar code, there would be alot less strife and more contentment.

I hope all your work pays off and you find your satifactory niche in life, I don't always see eye to eye with your take on things, however you are an interesting character and I wish you best of luck, well done!

Thanks, Hatrick. I appreciate the compliment.

If you are interested in this area, the initial inspiration for my work comes from a single essay of the aforementioned Heidegger. He lays out the original concepts in an essay titled, "Building Dwelling Thinking" if you are interested in reading what serves as the genesis of my own work.

LOL!

Actually, this is not far off the mark. I hated the old tables myself and had my own needs (partially) in mind as I built them. I was also thinking of the BBC clients, present and future.

I also built them for the payment I received....and it was not monetary!

Thanks, Katie!!!! :D

Congratulations

I just had a great idea. One way to celebrate AM's 1000 post is to test out his top 5 list. Just so happens I'll have some time on my hands this weekend.

Yikes am I proud of myself for connecting the dots on this one.:p

The philosophy of home. Home is more than you think it is. Home is not only where you live, home dictates the way you live. The concept of home connects you to the people of your community, the things in your community.
.
Which would presumably mean this community, too.:) I trust you'll be writing your thoughts on the connections!

Vancouver is definately part of my community. One of my favourite parts. It is not essential to think on the large scale in my schema of community, but I definately see the planet from the standpoint of a global community. In the end, I think it is that perspective that makes the ONLY sense in the long-term survival of the planet. The planet is HOME to ALL of us. I know that's a cliche, but I think it is a powerful one. And an undeniable truth. What we need to do is start reconciling the way we live with the truth we know. This, unfortunately, is one of the weaknesses of western culture. We can know a thing to be true, yet we find ways to ignore that truth.

This work on the philosophy of home is an ongoing project of mine. Lots more work to be done, and hopefully, some of it will get published someday.

A few short weeks?

More like 5 long hard weeks left of the semester. It is that time of year when the crunch is on....... assignments piling up.

Yes I know time does go by fast.

Since your reading break was a week ahead of us maybe you will be done sonner too. Lucky bum.

Lucky bum? I have two major papers to write for my seminars and several more assignments to grade for my teaching assistantship positions. I will be busy from now until the end of April!

As I see it, however, that is just a few short weeks when compared to the past two years of study, the 3 years of undergrad study prior to this, and the many years of work before that.

The older I get, the faster time seems to be travelling. When I was your age, Brandi, a year seemed like a long time. Now, a year disappears beneath me almost in the blink of an eye. This scares me.

Perhaps this is the reason I love spending time with you young ladies so much. I can forget about the onslaught of time, even if its just for an hour. Or, in some cases, two hours. :D

Maybe this is why the wonderful and unique services you young ladies provide us should be thought of as more than just sex for money. Perhaps what you are really giving us is the temporary suspension of time. I can enter into a world in which I am not getting older; I am someone who enjoys the company of beautiful, young women again! I am not 48 and closer to my grave than I am the delivery room; I am young and viral again, a stud again, if only in my own mind and only for a moment.

Thank you, dear ladies, for all of The Moments!

(Wow, that sure got heavy really quick, didn't it? I just wish American Male would stop with the philosophizing once in a while! Long-winded, pompous bastard!

Very insightful post. I've often had the same thoughts. Part of what these lovely ladies are providing is a suspension of time..for those of us on the wrong side of 40.

Yes, I still think you are a lucky bum for many reasons.

on another note the women enjoy you too. That is why so many have become your friends and not just the typical sp/client relations.

It is not all in your mind you are young, viral and a breath of fresh air and in my opinion I think you are a stud! (says this with a wink and a sexy smile)

Thanks, Brandi. You're a sweetheart.

So, you think I'm a stud now? You should have seen me at 20, darling. I was magnificent! Brad Pitt wishes he was ever half as gorgeous. I was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, Norwegian god! The birds in the trees would sing as I passed by. Girls would swoon at the mere mention of my name. Women wanted me, men wanted to be me. That was then.....

Today, I'm a hallow shadow of the man I was in my glorious youth. But, that's life. I've had my fun. No regrets. Well, maybe a couple. :p

Come on AM,,,,its like "Gag me with a back hoe" now,,the pompous ass you called yourself earlier is coming to life, your starting to sound like a tool.
Just my 2 cents

Please, don't be so humourless, stryker. No one actually talks about themselves in such hyperbolic language and really means it. Do they??? I sure don't. Comedians and other types of humorists use exaggeration to inform us, to entertain us, to make us laugh.

Don't you like to laugh, stryker? You didn't find my comment about birds singing as I passed by at all humourous? Girls swooning at the mention of my name? Nothing??? Oh well.

The point was to that whatever I was in my youth, I am that no longer. Time spent with SPs helps to bring back that sense of what I was in my youth. I need to return to that time, even if its only for an hour. THAT was the point, stryker.

Could I have stated that directly? Sure I could have. But what's the fun of that? Its much more fun to exaggerate, to write interesting stories and weave tall tales.

Thanks for all of your efforts to make Perb flat and boring. They have not gone unnoticed.

That's funny. I never noticed. In fact I think stryker is one of the most interesting characters on this board. Short, concise, often witty posts with no ulterior motive.
