I just updated to the new Lion OS about a week ago and so far I have found it to be a huge piece of crap - it's the Mac equivalent of what the Vista OS was to Windows. Lot's of freezing programs and crashes. I would strongly recommend that Mac user's don't download this P.O.S. untill Apple comes up with some patches for the numerous problems - maybe in 6 months time.

It truly is like Vista. I've had some people telling it is freaking fantastic and they love it and others tell me it's a piece of crap that needs a lot of fixing.

I think the people who love it are basic users...and the ones who hate it are more experienced users who delve a little deeper.

Calling it "Vista" is a little harsh. OSX Lion is a major upgrade from Snow Leopard and the fact is most software including some of the major ones (Office, Adobe, etc) have yet to optimized so things like program crashes, etc should be expected. Personally I haven't felt the need to upgrade as I like Snow Leopard.

See the link for "Upgrading to OS X Lion: Potential problems and how to avoid them":

Before upgrading clone your hard drive (using CCCloner, etc) so you have a backup to revert.

One thing I like about Apples on line store is they post all reviews good or bad. I was contemplating 'upgrading' but read the reviews and some of the stuff I use daily wasn't included on Lion. I looked at the 'features' and none really motivated me to upgrade.

I will wait a while before upgrading since Snow Leopard does all and more that I need plus it is stable all the time.
