Now...as I was saying. This has been a challenging week! Came home from a trip to Langley where I turned away more clients than I saw because of unsafe or inappropriate requests, & then I came home to discover my truck needed a new clutch! Determined to 'endeavor to perservere'*, I went on with the rest of my day...which ended in the most wonderful surprise I could never have imagined when I woke up yesterday!

I adopted a 10 month old French bulldog puppy yesterday. She is dark brindle in colour & cuter than Hell! No name yet but there's a few options on the table right now. Right now she is having a nap with her bum up against my hip & her head in my hand...so this is posted using only my right hand! I am in love...

**By anonymous friend I certainly didn't mean anyone who's never been anything BUT supportive! It was a serial harasser, multiple email addresses, hiding behind a tough name & an anonymous keyboard. I was adhering to the idea of He Who Cannot Be Named lest we draw him closer....

Thanks dd! The Langley trip wasn't awful; I watched the Ky Derby, & playoff hockey, & ate way too much avocado...and had some pretty wonderful company too!

She is a very good puppy, soon to be spoiled to bits...

It was very much unforeseen, though it had been discussed quite a bit. My SO went out to coffee with a friend, & ran across a younger guy in a tight spot. 10 month old French bulldog puppy & 3 small kids; a fourth on the way. He was quite distraught about having to rehome her, and was willing to let her go to a good home for a nominal fee (25% of what they paid for her). We had a quick discussion on the phone & decided we should go for it. Her little pads on her dewclaws had been scraped raw, & her legs were wobbly from having walked so far...she was so exhausted she slept all through the night. She is an absolute cuddlebug & has barely left my side!

Long story short folks. The puppy was actually 4 months old, her name is Iris, she is in training as a therapy dog for an autistic young man...and she has been returned to her rightful owner. She was stolen 2 days ago, & my SO said he was a hell of an actor...

At least we'll always have last night...

I wouldn't exactly put it that way. My old man did his first bit in jail as a 16 year old in 1982 in a REAL jail: the Guelph Reformatory. 18 months. I have it on authority that not only the RCMP but some people 'who ought not to be messed with' are looking for this guy, and they know EXACTLY who he is. I hope they find him first. My SO will dummy him, stand over him til the cops arrive, plead to it & do the time. Happily.
