A ships first mate is in the crows nest one day, when he sees an enemy ship in the distance, quickly approaching. He runs to the captain, "Captain, there's an enemy ship fast approaching!" The captain replies, "Bring me my red shirt!!"
There is an epic battle and the enemy is defeated. Later, the first mate asks the captain,"Why did you need your red shirt?" The captain replies, "I wear my red shirt in battle so if I am shot, the crew won't see it and they'll keep fighting bravely." "Wow", the first mate says. "That's really smart, Captain."
The next day, the first mate is in the crows nest again, when this time he sees 1000 enemy ships on the horizon. He runs to the captain, "Captain, there are 1000 enemy ships approaching!!" The captain replies,"Bring me my brown pants!!"
