Those stats definitely sound like bullshit but even if they are not whats the connection between the law and someone murdering a prostitute? I don't see any.

the reporter may be an asshat, but the law is still stupid even if not a contributing factor to prostitute deaths, it doesn't make anyone's life any better and therefore is a stupid law.

legalize prostitution and spend the resources instead on something that really matters like busting those shitfuckers in winnipeg who were abusing kids!!!

The laws are outdated and need to reformed, but why is it always street prostitution and the public communicating law that is the first and often only thing the media and politicians talk about? Who is demanding street prostitution be made legal?

Wouldn't it make much more sense to change the already mostly unenforced laws to allow more than just independent outcalls, and have the business operate more safely and completely legally indoors? There will obviously still be laws against underaged involvement and coercion.
