a bartending question

I received for Xmas a bottle of Stoli vanilla flavoured vodka which I am drinking on the rocks, however I do have a bottle of ginger flavoured liquour and would like to mix the two. Any bartenders out there with a suggestion for mixing the two?

Stoli Vanilla works nice with ginger ale by themselves. Never tried a ginger liqueur, but adding a 1/2 oz. or so to the cocktail, I cannot see hurting it as an accent flavor. Maybe try 1oz. Stoli Vanil, 1/2oz. ginger liqueur, 2oz. pineapple shaken over ice-pour into chilled martini glass and then add a splash of ginger ale, and then maybe try pickled ginger or a rosemary sprig as a garnish. A savory martini!

Hi Janus,

Stoli Vanilla goes really well with coffee or coffee flavoured liqueurs...don't bother trying to mix with the ginger.

Try a fancy espresso martini by mixing 1 shot stoli vanil, 1 shot baileys, 1 shot kahlua, and 1 shot espresso (if you cant use espresso...use a shot of strong coffee) shake in a martini shaker and strain into a chilled martini glass...garnish with shaved chocolate or a whole coffee bean...the baileys makes a nice foam when shaken. Looks great!!! Impress your friends...
Or wait for summer and throw in a blender with ice...Use double the coffee...Yummy!!!...

Or take a page from The Big Lebowski and mix half stoli vanil and half kahlua on the rocks with a splash of milk for a caucasian that will really "Tie the room together" ...

Or stoli vanil goes well with Coke, RootBeer, or my preference...soda and a splash of Kahlua on the rocks...

Or...tell me if you find a different combo.

Thank's for the tips folks. It is real skill learning to mix different flavours together and the right amounts as well. I have experimented with the Stoli, a little of the ginger and some lychee fruit. It would be interesting to have someone who really knew bartending to critque, but I guess in the end if it tastes great than drink it!
