I am not old enough to recall the exact day, but I had a mild fascination with Marilyn Monroe growing up so of course knew who JFK was and a little bit about him.

I remember in grade eight we had to write a children's story. And being the "grown up" ( ) that I was, I did not want to do it. So the teacher asked what I wanted to do a report on and I chose JFK and his assassination. She even let me have a moment of silence during the class once i finished my presentation.

I am not American but I have spent lots of time in the states as a child.

One of the saddest things I read about the whole thing was that when LBJ was sworn in, Jackie wore the pink blood stained dress to the inauguration. So, so sad. :(

Despite being stained by blood in the motorcade, Jackie insisted upon wearing the suit as Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as president that day. According to the historian interviewed by "Today," when Lady Bird Johnson asked if Jackie wanted to change her outfit, she replied, "No, I want them to see what they have done to Jack."

I remember my family home being very sombre for weeks afterwards with my mom crying watching Walter Cronkite on CBS News at lunch time on Nov 22, 1963.

I am a firm believer that there were many others involved and Oswald was not the lone crazy gunman but it was a conspiracy right from when Airforce 1 arrived at Love Field. I think Oliver Stone's film was way over the top but I do think it was either the anti Castro Cubans from Florida (JFK let them die on the beach in the Bay of Pigs Invasion) or it was the Mob who were screwed over by the Kennedy's after the election. The Mob had helped the Kennedy's in key states that had unions that were told to vote for JFK by the likes of Sam Giancana. The Castro regime may have been involved too because of the number of assassination plots by the CIA vs Castro. Who knows?

I think its pretty widely accepted that Oswald could not have gotten off four good shots from his $15 relic rifle. It was proven that several snipers from the different areas of the the US Armed Forces were unable to cycle that rifle in less than five seconds and hit a moving target in the head. Then there is the "pristine bullet that was found on a stretcher at the Parkland Hospital??

The 1978 Assassinations Committee found that there was enough evidence to proceed with opening the case again for review. Once again they were stalled and the US Gov't hid the records deeper in the Library of Congress until 2015. It was then quietly extended to 2050 because of some people who were still alive that were innocent bystanders.

My only wish is the true story is opened up to the public before I die. I will have to stay in shape physically and mentally so I can know what went down.

How about when JFK JR. and Carolyn died. He was flying into Marthas Vineyard. I believe it was the summer of '99. That is a sad time to remember as well. Do they still publish George magazine?

I believe his wife's name was Carolyn. John-John also had a sister named Caroline. :)

FTR: I believe one of his other sisters died in the crash with them her name was Lauren, iirc. Now who needs wiki?!!?;)

I did however wiki George magazine and their last issue was in 2001.

JFK and his wife Jackie had two living children: Caroline (1957) and John (1960). A third child Patrick (1963) lived for only a few days after been born with a lung ailment.

I remember when I heard about the assassination from my mother but I only have vague memories of the funeral. But I remember the Beatles on Ed Sullivan!

Their first child, a daughter they named Arabella, was stillborn in 1956. Kennedy was, as a good Boston Irish Catholic boy, one of NINE children.

I was born the day before the 2nd anniversary of the assassination (pause while you do the math...)...The death of John Fitzgerald Kennedy changed the world. Johnson escalated the Vietnam War; Kennedy planned to end it. I do not believe for a second that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible for the kill shot, and I certainly don't ascribe to the Magic Bullet theory! In fact, recent evidence seems to point to the fatal shot having come from the Secret Service follow car as an accidental discharge by an unqualified agent who was pressed into the car at the last minute. I doubt that we will ever know the full truth of what actually happened. I do plan to live long enough that all the records will have been unsealed, however, so I may find out the official revised truth someday!

I can recall exactly where I was and what happened for the next few weeks. It was a little after 10am and our teacher was call to the office. He was an American. A few minutes later the secretary came to our class crying and we were told to go home, no reason given. Got home an my mom (Canadian) was also crying was watching it on TV. It was all that was on our 4-channel universe. It really shook up our world at the time, Kennedy had stood up to the Russians and many thought WW3 was around the corner. The world according to "Father knows Best" was gone.

I was in grade 4, the principle came on the PA and announced the president had been assassinated. Students, teachers, office staff were crying, we were sent home. I remember for days thata all that seemed to be on tv. The procession to Arlington cemetary is still vivid in my mind, the casket passing the family, John John saluting as it passed, very sad.
