Yes My dad toke a course on what to do as civilian guard ,, in the event of a nucular war,, and he was talking about building a bomb shelter in our basement
It later years there was air raid sirens that went off every month in to the 70's
It was part of the culture we grew up with ,, and was alway on our minds .. What would . or could we do in the event of a nucular war.. It seems to be pacified these days , but in reality it the treat still exists .. Now we are not sure who the players will be or where will it start.. .
But considering the age of the weapons .. most will not work as planed ,, We could end up nuking our selves , with faulty rockets , out dated computer systems and even some general going on some self righteous crusade ..
No it is not over ,, they just realize there is very little we can do to survive it .. When it happens ,, those that survive just have to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild .. civilization
