You have to wonder, or maybe you don't, how would it have turned out, and where would we be now if the Soviet Union still existed ?

If the Soviet Union didn't break up then Strongman Putin wouldn't rise to power. I admire the turnaround he did to their fledging economy and Russian Rubles which was becoming worthless to its present respectable state. Putin is a political rockstar in my books. What Russia, Brazil, and Argentina did to their currency is the approach being followed by the US. Of course Putin is not perfect and he has his favorites like his free spending Billionaire friends who owns FC Chelsea and the New Jersey Nets. :nod:

During the Cold War with the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact, the defense expenditure of the US was about 10% of its GDP. These days decades after the Cold War, the defense expenditure of the US is only about 4.6% of its GDP. All I can say is that if the Iron Curtain existed till today, the Middle East will be more peaceful. :nod:
