Why do most of these country singers sing in what seems like a nasally weird voice? It feels like they are doing this deliberately and its not their natural voice. I dont seems to recall too many older country singers having such a voice. Granted, I dont listen to a lot of country music, so what do I know.

I've noticed some singers adding an accent or an unusual tone when they sing. Probably to sound a little different and stand out.

I am a country music fan but not that stuff. A guy I met on one of my music trips 2013-14 or so, Caleb Caudle from North Carolina, had a great T Shirt that I still have, said:

He's move to Nashville, which is inevitable if you are in a lot of music but thank god he has not given in to the machine.
