Ottawa sidelines B.C. lumber

"I don't know what it's going to take to get the bureaucrats and the ministers in Ottawa to recognize that softwood lumber employs more people in Canada than steel and auto parts combined," Eby said.

B.C. is trying to influence federal decisions from 4,500 kilometres away. It has an intergovernmental relations secretariat inside the premier’s office, where it relies on long-distance calls and virtual meetings by staff members safely ensconced in the provincial capital.

BC appears to have capitulated on finding softwood tariff relief in the States. Instead focusing on Ottawa to print cash compensation while Alberta's parliament hill office keeps pushing for a bitumen pipe. Nobody but me pushing for a bitumen refinery near Prince George turning out careers in finished fuels, lubricants and plastic products.
Canada need more manufacturing in:
1. iron and steel manufacturing
2. Oil refineries
3. Pipelines for oil and water
4. Refined oil products eg plastics of all types
5. Energy production to include nuclear and rewable options.

Canada needs to be able to produce 100% of all food it consumes. Including fruits and veggis. So construction of large scale greenhouses will be needed.

Canada need to have a plan on how to renew trees on a national basis... so far most of our forests have been cut down in the last 70 years and it usually takes 100 years to grow a forest back. Need a system like in the Scandinavian countries, where only selected logging is used.

Canadian need to do the same for fisheries, and outlaw Aboriginal rights to fishing, as world populations increase, other countries will infiltrate our 12 mile and 200 mile limits at sea.

Canada needs to become a major recycling participant. To be able to recycle over 95 % of all manufactured and imported products including plastics.

So far Carney is only lining up Products that Brookfield controls or should I say companies that the liberal heart controls.......

Really what we need a guide-line for what the government controls and makes money from. Then let the investors put money into systems that connect it all...
