Scott Galloway interviewing Mark Carney, for those who might be interested.
Wow 6 whole units.
Even worse is that's all he has acheived in twenty years as a politician.
Except somehow becoming a multimillionaire on an MP salary.
Carney is a Clash fan and has performed the Hip Flip... well, my vote is locked up then!I almost didn’t watch this because his voice is so annoying but I’m glad I did. It’s great
Long shot prediction in my book...and I say that as over a 4 decades long PC voter. Poilievre played his card badly in my book and should not have been voted as leader in the first place because of his love for rhetoric and name calling turned off people . I know Poilievre didn't want to align himself too closely with trump but close enough to appeal to the trump sympathizers in the Canadian PC which backfired on him like a flour bomb .So I am seeing a lot of comparisons between this and the American election. Kamala had a very short campaign basically because she hid for the first month as her handlers realized that the more they saw of her the less they liked her. I am seeing this with Carney and his short campaign. Polls have tightened up, his crowds are meager, he looked evasive and slippery during the debate, afraid to make any eye contact.
The polls signify a close election but they did in the US and Trump won the House, Senate and Presidency.
He has refused to reveal what assets are in his blind trust.
He plans to fire Canada into even deeper deficit than Trudeau was with his upcoming 4 year plan.
Conservatives are actually leading polls significantly in BC ridings on the Island where they have previously been ghosts.
Some of his policies are alarming....he is reigniting the attempted "hate speech" bills Trudeau tried to pass to increase internet censorship.
He plans to eliminate plastic wrap on food products in grocery stores as part of his green program which will lead to higher costs and less convenience for consumers.
I do not get the impression he gives a shit about Canada or Canadians...he has barely lived here and if he loses will renounce his leadership and go back to Brookfield. He is a carpetbagger for the WEF. If he wins we will probably become a testing ground for all the WEF policies they wish to install world wide.
There was a huge turnout country wide for this election which foretells change. I am not certain whether its because his message about Trump has resonated or whether its that people realize that he was the architect of the Trudeau financing plan over the previous 5 years and after 10 years of Liberals they are ready country wide for a change. This is a tidewater election and I am not certain which way it is turning but I will stick out my neck here and say that the polls do not reflect the actual public mood and that PP will win a majority government, Jagmeet Singh will sink his party into insignificance and Carney will disappear into the wind following the result as he has no interest in being in Canada unless he is PM.
Conservatives should have won several of the last elections but they keep on picking leaders who do not appeal to the voters but have support of the old guard like Harper, they need to shake things up in their own leadership.Long shot prediction in my book...and I say that as over a 4 decades long PC voter. O'Toole would be in line to a full majority at this point if left in place but the far right in the party could not stand a "right to center" guy with common sense. While easterners see Poilievre as a lunatic who was disliked among MPs when minister and after. Rumours die hard as he might have changed since.
Most here thought Kamala was a shoo in for the US election as well apparently. We will find out Friday which way the country will turn. As usual Ontario is the key.Long shot prediction in my book...and I say that as over a 4 decades long PC voter. You could be right . Polls are not as accurate as they used to be for the reasons we all know. Although 338Canada has been pretty accurate in the last decade . We will seeMost here thought Kamala was a shoo in for the US election as well apparently. We will find out Friday which way the country will turn. As usual Ontario is the key.
It was sort of sad watching the NDP this election. They had no money for the campaign. Jagmeet had to ride around on a bus and do much of his campaigning from parking lots using a megaphone as they couldn't afford to rent venues or travel by air.
He has to go...but at least he lasted long enough to get his pension!
And Arrowsmith while PP may not appeal to you he was drawing far larger crowds than are normal for a Canadian election everywhere in the country so not everyone feels the same way as you. We will soon see if size matters.
I can see that the 'faithful' are motivated to come out but the crowds have not been anything special. I don't think Canadians take to the 'crowd' style the way Americans do. In America, they have big crowds come out to football games, have tailgate parties, etc. In my mind and anyone that I asked over Easter, I don't anyone cared. Most here thought Kamala was a shoo in for the US election as well apparently. But it does indicate that Carney does not have a lot of "faithful" for what that is worth. Plus..in his defence I guess.....as would normally be expected with bankers, he comes across as dour, lacking in passion and is not an inspiring orator taking on a lifetime politician who knows the tricks of the trade.I can see that the 'faithful' are motivated to come out but the crowds have not been anything special. I think carney will be great. But I have way better things to do than go to a political rally. Canadians don’t really do things like that. I don’t know anybody that would go. But we all voted. It’s not a concert lolBut it does indicate that Carney does not have a lot of "faithful" for what that is worth. The problem with the Liberals is that while the head of the snake has been cut off, the rest of the body that got Canada into the position it is in today remains fully intact.
I've never been to one either. I think CBC has the Liberals getting a majority government if I heard their projected polling results correctly in passing but they are in a bit of a desperate position seeing as if PP does get a majority government many of them could very well be toast so will do or say anything they might help prevent that.I think carney will be great.
