I think Job is my favorite book .. because it show the encompassing nature of god. and weather job got back everything he lot was never the point .. what was the point is that job saw that God was not about. religion ..or beliefs . of any kind ..which seem to be lost when you look at all of the magnificence of the infinite universal creation .From the make up of the atom .to the infinity of the expanse.. this is what Job was shown .. and there was a profound change in him. His faith changed from being narrow minded to all encompassing.. The concept is totally lost. on the religious people.. because they can;t imagine that God is more then there belief.. They can not see that they are part of god.. we are not separate... This is what Jesus has all ways been saying . i people just hear his words.. Jesus said '' I am in the father and the father is in me . ..I am also in you.." Think about it beyond your religious beliefs .. and what you have been told that it means .. his words were very simple .. I am in the father and the father is in me.. and you and me are as much part of god . as Jesus is.. weather you believe it or not..because it has nothing to do with belief .. if you exist then it is.

Read the full link in the first post again. There is nothing there at all to suggest atheism is a faith; quite the opposite. Atheism means refusing to believe without evidence. That is rational, not "religious."

If God Almighty appeared with a flaming sword, there would be evidence, and therefore I would believe.

And disbelieving without evidence as well, equally an act of faith.

That statement is simply meaningless. It is up to those who propose a theory to provide the evidence.

It is like saying any two hypotheses are equal. Evolution and creationism for example? One supported by overwhelming scientific evidence and one supported by myth and tradition? Flat earth at the center of the universe? Is it just faith that makes me believe we live on a sphere rotating around the sun? I suspect it is because one theory fits the observable facts; the other does not.

Or is it just some semantic point? I don't believe my cat can speak Italian; I suppose it could be because I have faith that she can't. However, I believe that she can't because I have no evidence that she can.

Atheism

Isn't it strange the way so many religious people think atheists are either immoral or fools just because we subject religious beliefs to the same kind of scrutiny as any other belief? Many atheists are uncomfortable with the "negative" word, and not just because it has been demonized by our culture. It says what we don't believe, rather than what we do believe. Other labels that some atheists prefer include humanist, agnositc, secular humanist, rationalist, freethinker, skeptic, and materialist. Although there may be fine distinctions, it really comes down to a matter of taste more than any deep theological or philosophical differences. It is not true that atheists believe in nothing. An atheist has a naturalistic worldview without the supernaturalism and mythology inherent in religions. Atheists want to maximize happiness without compromising on truth and live by principles that can change based on evidence, not by unchanging commandments.

Why isn't the world a better place ?..

I am always amazed . by though word that are written here by what the world calls a bunch of perverts and whore mongers. If the rest of the world would have as much concern . for there fellow man .. and think about what it is that they are believing in .. Maybe just maybe ..mankind might survive ..and have some good loving and fucking.
